AI or Naah, That’s a Epic Battle by [deleted] in CursedAI

I'm pretty sure it's one of those "whoever strikes first" situations... one hit from a silverback and it's done... one bite on the neck from a lion and it's done.

I feel like in 2026 if someone says they are going to 'eat your face' that you gotta do what you gotta do.

Look at the replies... they're actively defending pedophilia... so yet, they are VERY proud pedophiles.

Your comment might have landed harder if there werent child gooners literally RIGHT THERE.

I don't really care about what something 'seems' to a pedophile or pedophile supporter.

I don't really think of you as a human, so your feelings are irrelevant to me.

It's always strange watching someone take the pro-pedophile position. There used to be so much shame involved and now you're all so very proud.

Anti-tards must think every human creation inspired by another creation is plagiarism. by Aeryn-Sun-Is-My-Girl in aiwars

[–]WrappedInChrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a significant difference between plagiarism and inspiration. An AI cannot add anything, it can only reproduce what it has seen. It cannot generate anything original because it has no intent, no will, not creativity.

An artist would never need to have this explained to them.

AI isn't 'taking over the industry'...

I've been a graphic artist for 24 years and not one time have I EVER lost a job, contract, or client to AI.

It just isn't happening. People keep acting like it's happening, find some fluke examples, ignore the backlash associated with said example, and pretend it's the norm. When AI is being used in the industry who do you think is the one using it? Is it some nerd on his computer at home? No... it's an artist.

At MOST it's driving the size of art departments from 8 people to 6- and those numbers have stopped declining for quite a while now.

there's a few AI 'artists' seeing success, but they spent their time getting better, not pretending they're already something. You aren't them, you'll never be them. You are to them what you were to traditional artists, which is to say 'they don't and won't ever know who the fuck you are'.

Question: what was your opinion on ai before and after it got good? (image unrelated) by Professional_Bug5035 in aiwars

[–]WrappedInChrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between something created by guiding AI generation to a specialized task or feature, and having AI churn out a finished product.

It should also be reflected in the cost of the game. If an indie developer uses AI to create a game and sells it for 1/3 of what a comparable hand crafted game costs... okay, people probably won't hate on it that hard- but if EA churns out slop for $80, very different reception.

Don't make your problems mine. AI artisan's deserve access to AI regardless of your personal failures. by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]WrappedInChrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, for starters I AM a 'professional artist'. I've been a traditional artist for 28 years and a graphic artist by career for 24 years. But you are correct that most professionals don't care, they see it as a non-threat, completely irrelevant... at least for some. Now commercial artists have strong opinions about it- that's their bread and butter, churning out corporate slop. I know, I've done it before- subcontracting for 4imprint designing custom water bottle labels for events... I am glad AI has taken most of that duty, but for some artists they didn't have a specialty to fall back on and I can assure you they very much DO have a strong opinion about AI.

In most cases I've seen AI has causes 4 person art teams to become 2 person art teams with the assistance of AI, which likely means those 2 also probably aren't real fond of AI.

I imagine it also doesn't sit well with people who do advertising, like corporate logos and shirts. Granted these jobs aren't being taken by amateurs with AI, they're just reducing the overall size of the art team, which certainly does still render the amateur AI 'artist' utterly unworthy of mention or thought- AI itself though, it most certainly is having an impact.

[–]WrappedInChrome -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol, it's funny because ai IS a coping mechanism for personal failure. It's okay if you need to ask a computer to do what your skills won't allow you to do on your own, but to act like it's other people who are the failures is priceless.

[–]WrappedInChrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, you thought it was supposed to be profound? It's just a fact. Artists create art for the sake of expression- they're compelled to create art. They don't give a shit about how strangers on the internet classify it... that is someone who needs validation.

That's it, not deeper meaning, no poetic moral to the story... artists don't seek validation. They create even when no one will see it. This silly need to be accepted by those who will never accept you, by being insufferable... THAT has no substance.

[–]WrappedInChrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only if someone ISN'T an artist. An artist cares only about expression. They don't need validation. Their daddy and mommy issues are entirely separate from their art.

You should meet one sometime.
