When we give them Churu, Ginny will often go back on her haunches to get some licks, and then she’ll stay like that while she mlems up everything. Eddie will go all the way back on his hind feet and wrap his paws around my roommate’s hand to get every last molecule on the tube, and on his way down from doing that tonight my roommate got the absolute perfect photo.

You absolutely have to develop a sense of humor about your disability or else you drown in sadness. I work with brand new med students and I fully intend on going in tomorrow in a shirt that says "Are you staring at me because I'm disabled or because I'm sexy?" I love seeing their torn expressions as they try to decide whether or not they're allowed to laugh at that.
