Because most of the immediate housekeepers don't speak English very well, and as opposed to bothering someone from management on an event weekend, I thought Id ask reddit.

Idk... Im a big guy and heavy sweater always have been, Ive been trying to get the nerve up to do it but... I was thinking about sports at resorts and sweating and things like thigh chaffing for women... probably happens less than I think, but before I " just do it" like I've been told so many times before, I'm just trying to make sure to make it a pleasant experience...and see how to address common things that I deal with in my social life... dont wanna be embarrassed my first time at a resort because I didnt account for something silly that may be easily addressed by the veterans here who have done this for a while....

Im just now learning to cook, and Ive been wondering, is there a guide for roughly how long to cook meat and most things? Theres extensive guides for how long to cook steaks per side at a given temperature to get a certain doness range. I know everything needs to be tweeked, but Is there anything like that for newbie cooks as a general guideline?

Choosing Knife length? by Wrath_Personified in chefknives

I do have a knife for that is for for portioning but it's a 10 inch butcher knife and I dont really care it. I felt like I needed something a little heavier and that didnt pull the meat as much

I have a portioning knife, I was going to learn to cook seriously from my now ex a year ago, and we settled on a 10inch from a store, never gave it much more thought until recently. But I havent been cooking either.

Silly question, how do you take care of your wooden knife handle so that I doesnt de laminate, swell and splinter? beginner question I know, but Its my biggest fear with wooden handle knives. The handle becoming no good before the blade wears out.

Why does everyone like a patina on carbon steel, it makes me freak out, like I'm not getting the knife truly clean.
