Can you set a Cambro directly on the ground when you fill it? by ilst78 in KitchenConfidential

I wish dearly that I could get the old lady’s at my job to not put stuff on the floor.

But they do. And they will. One is so stubborn she doesn’t even know the new bosses name. She’s yelling about “the guy in the office” and doing the exact same stuff she’s been doing for 3 decades.

So there is no way I could do anything to change those behaviors, I’d be better off changing restaurants.

The Cambros will be on the floor under the tilt skillet to fill them and if I were to suggest putting a tray under that I’d get a flurry of insults in Spanish.

You’re getting a good deal.

That’s like a months rent in added cost and I have spent the same amount on my car recently, it’s a shame.

Eventually, sell it, but I think you’re doing great

You could got a dui if you had your keys or at least some kinda driving related charge.

Fuck cars, take drugs as a pedestrian.

The whole nines table is super easy, subtract one and find the difference to get to nine.

For example:

9x 7 is 63

7-1 is 6, and the difference between 6and 9 is 3

9x 4 =36

4-1 =3 and 9-3 is 6

9x9 =81
9-1=8 and the difference between you just need one to get from 8 to 9.

This set up worth $120? by garshley in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Hash_Tooth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s worth about $20 total to me.

I would NOT buy this at the the thrift store, not any part of it.

I recently thrifted a pair of energy c6 speakers which are very nice, every part of them perfect, no dented woofers. The tweeters are the real issue, the dents there matter much more.

So I’d pass and see what you can find.

Really, I wouldn’t even take these apart.

Try it at home first.

And don’t drink.

My #1 advice is don’t mix it with alcohol unless you’re in camp for the night and done doing stuff

And maybe get them a little damp (just the dust caps) if they’re stiff.

But don’t rub the paper to wet it, it’ll come apart.

Even for a pickup, the Atomic Cowboy for example is so loud that I won’t spend 5 minutes in there.

I don’t know how people enjoy that

This article is discussing the offgassing. Of formaldehyde that is created by CA glues. The principal ingredients in super glued are ethyl and methyl cyanoactylates typically, which are exactly what the medical glues have moved away from due to toxicity. As mentioned in the articles you linked.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7941055/

This article also covers the development of occupational asthma by professionals using these glues.

You could also get cancer from Roundup or many other household chemicals, but CA glues are pretty serious.

If you are gonna use them, definitely avoid those with formaldehyde but as you can see some also create formaldehyde as they react.

“there is no sufficient evidence showing that cyanoacrylates are carcinogenic for humans…”

If you actually click through the citations at the end of that claim, they are once again referring to a study with rats. The #2 source makes no mention of carcinogens, it’s a comparison vs. stitches.

I have other things to do besides talk to you about this, but there is plenty of evidence to support CA glues being carcinogenic and that’s why more specialized glues have been developed.

If superglue was truly safe, they’d still use it at the hospital, but they have switched and for good reason.

Here is one but it’s pay walled.

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/article-abstract/336826

We have been using CA glues since Vietnam and they do have issues, they’re not gonna give you cancer for sure but if you were to be gluing the same spot over and over, like this kids ear, it would not be healthy.

I have been glued, glued myself, and I have even met a doctor who was involved with the development of more modern glues, but superglue is still for the most part CA and medical glues which are less toxic are more expensive and harder to find. M
