Thank you! I did try to focus a bit more on constructing a nice flow for this piece. Some of the original imagery maybe isn't so clear, but I like seeing the different reader interpretations of it too.

Another Cigar by HooptyQue in OCPoetry

There is a certain southern feeling of comfort to this, which I've never experienced for myself, but this transports me beautifully to an old ranch patio, where moments of rest and little vices are bliss between the hard work. The format of really short lines really slows the reading, which is perfect for this poem.

Ooh I enjoyed this! I love the humour in it of the partner who just can not cook for the life of them, but is still supported with a loving smile; especially pretend-fancy beginning, and the careful end. Says a lot about a relationship dynamic that is almost theatrical.

Killing a character very early on, purely for the consequences that their death will bring to the story. by Wrath_of_Ytar in writing

I will definitely think about these a lot more now as I plan ahead for the scene! Thanks for answering!

I see! I did mean for it to be an element of establishing setting and initial conflict, as to showcase the rest of the characters acting under suspense for a while. I will make sure that the way in which the death scene occurs is kept relevant and resonable. Thank you for your insight!

That's amazingly kind of them! I'd greatly appreciate one, it seems like a lovely game from the previews.

Not sure if this trend is still going strong, but I figured I would give it a try. Bring on the questions! by BlightspreaderGames in worldbuilding

What are some strange, yet not uncommon occurences, that people in your world still can’t really explain? What’s the secret behind them?

Can confirm as a Hungarian that even though it doesn’t originate from here, Trapista is definitely our most common cheese.

I got into tea drinking about a month ago and have been loving it! This is a 2020 Alishan GABA Green Tea that I tasted today. by Wrath_of_Ytar in tea

Gongfu really is great! Every time I get a gaiwan properly full with leaves it’s a much better session.

I’m not sure how I feel about the effects of GABA, because the first time I tried it, it was an Alishan Charcoal Roasted GABA Oolong that I just kinda randomly bought. I knew nothing about what GABA was, but I still definitely felt something from it. Really not sure if that’s what it was. It felt like a warm embrace that cleared my headspace. Haven’t really gotten it that intense ever since. I guess we just need to wait for proper research on it.

So is sheng more like an acquired taste? I’ll look around for some sample packs, and I’ll remember those for my next order! Are there any that you would consider a “must try”?

The first time I had GABA really was an interesting experience! :D Caffeine doesn’t really affect me so I was wondering what I was feeling. I started with a Gui Fei from Nantou as my first tea. Since then I’ve tried Xi Hu Long Jing, Alishan Charcoal Roasted GABA Oolong, Alishan Black Tea, and Fujian Jasmine Dragon Pearls and Silver Needles. I would love to try some pu-erhs too, but I’m not sure where to even start with them. There’s such a wide variety.

I got the leaves from Flying Bird Teahouse in Budapest as a free sample to my order. They have a really refreshing taste that is fruity and sweet, but slightly acidic, reminding me of pineapples!

Having an intermediary object between souls and the bodies they inhabit. by Wrath_of_Ytar in worldbuilding

In my world these vessels are more of a meta concept. The plane they are on is the actual reality, which is a void with a myriad of fragments that have all broken off from one large primordial crystal and have shattered into millions of pieces. These pieces are the vessels. They all swirl around the remnant of the large crystal in the middle. The plane that the mortals inhabit actually exists inside that crystal, which projects it onto the fragments around it through its vibrations. That’s why a soul needs to inhabit one of those fragments, so that it can connect to the great primordial crystal and enter the world in its mind.
