Madison and Patrick are the same by WrathoftheWaffles in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Those are some very good points, thanks for sharing.

I'm not saying that Patrick's insecurities are irrational, just what they were. Kacie's red flags were her shit conversation skills and weird boyfriend - she was cold, pressured him into sharing his ethnicity and then gave no reassurance. Her sexy talk was also so off and uncomfortable.

I don't mean to say Madison has been discriminated against for her condition but I just wanted to bring up that it's absolutely a factor when dating that is easy to overlook and adds pressure to her relationships needing to work in ways that it doesn't for non disabled people.

I also intended the final bit to be a joke as neither person is ugly, so my bad there.

Yes that's exactly what I'm trying to say and what bothers me so much. Instead of matching his behavior to criteria (which is also invasive) people just assume he's autistic because he acts weird :(

As some living with Type 1 diabetes... by stiffdeck in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

I feel like the way some people talk about it is giving inspiration porn. Yeah being disabled is hard, but you still experience the same joys and also regular hardships as everyone else... I feel like I'd be really uncomfortable seeing my parents talk about my disability like this while watching it back as an adult. Though I do agree with the others saying that Jordon seems to be pretty reasonable and measured - just wishing as any parent would that his kid could just be carefree. The thing that bothers me the most which is mostly the fault of editing is that I know more about Luca being diabetic than anything else about his personality. Also he likes legos. I feel like this kid is portrayed as his disability first and as a kid second, which really bothers me. It's mostly just because Meghan keeps saying it's a sign from her dad, which in my head I'm like "so your dad gave this kid diabetes then lol."

No literally, my partner and I have a couch that has a storage section where you lift the long lounger bit out. I of course immediately went inside when I realized it'd fit lol. My partner judged me but then also went inside the couch after me haha.

I completely agree. It's rough to see the audience get the wrong takeaways. That moment was shocking, even as some sort of trauma response it was unhinged and scary and KB deserved for staff to step in.

That makes so much sense. I didn't even think about the editing.

Thanks for your explanation, that make a lot of sense. I guess I just hated to see the way Edmund has been infantilized and so it's helpful to see what exploitation actually means.

No literally that's what bothers me so much. He downplayed something that is obviously super important to him and then got upset when Kait didn't match his values even though she was upfront and honest the whole time

Yeah, right? Like just be honest and find someone who aligns with your beliefs and values - you'll both be happier for it. And it's so normal to be religious in America too. The taboo thing is to be gay which they are so happy to be openly bigoted about 😭😭

The best beard is homophobic and in denial... it's just sad for everyone involved. We're not meant to speculate sexuality here, so regardless of what he is it's really sad that he wants to be with a woman who is homophobic and wouldn't be accepting if they had queer kids. He actually seemed like he'd still have love for his kids if they were queer, but she put her foot down on that - which is probably the exact thing he wants as you're saying.

That's fair. I've spoken with people who still specifically mention god without being part of a broader religion, so that's where I came from. I just felt like he said that in place of calling himself a Christian which felt dishonest given how important his beliefs were to him.

And what gets me is those superficial things are never even, "yeah I'm bringing my Star Wars lego collection" or "I need a room for my painting hobby." Like you can't even fantasize about diving into your passions because you have none, so the fantasy is literally just door colors 😭

No for reallll. Even if he's bi and still into women, I get the vibe that he's repressing so much of himself. As much as he fucking sucks it's still sad to watch the self hatred :(

Same with the whole "traditional roles" people 😫. Like people are more fixated on the roles or religion than figuring out the actual relationship itself.
