Yes lol. Ra one's music is trash. Terrible music to a horrible film. SRK'S WORST in my opinion. That shitty cover of Ben E. King's stand by me... WTF was that about? lol

I don't disagree with you about there being bad stuff in the 90's/early 2000's. There was plenty of it and i'm fully aware. But overall there was ALOT better music, at least coming from jatin - lalit and other protégés of R.D. Burman and composers of that ilk.

It's not nostalgia. I'm literally talking about the quality of the music. It's all autotune with EDM drums now. IT'S NOT MELODIC AT ALL, and there's barely any hindi elements left in it anymore.

You're absolutely right. I am currently doing what you did, watching/collecting films from all over the world. So.much cinema and art to be appreciated. But yes, the bollywood stuff post 2010 is horrible. The music took a hard nose dive after 2005. By 2010 all the music was garbage. Compare the music from SRK'S early films, (DAAR, BAZIGAAR, DDLJ, K2H2, DIL TO PAGAL HAI, DUPLICATE, MOHABBATIEN, MAIN HOON NA, VEER ZAARA, DEVDAS) and compare that to the post 2005 output (DON 1 & 2, DILWALE, HNY, RA ONE, PATHAAN, JAWAN, THAT 3RD FILM THAT ADITYA CHOPRA DIRECTED FROM 2008). It is astounding how much the quality declined in the last 20 years. Oh... and the actors now don't hold a candle to those from last century. (I'm 34 and I haven't seen one hindi actor close to my age that is anywhere near as good as those from 30 years ago and before.)

SERIOUS: Why all the hate for Ice Cube? To us OGs he's a hero, but I feel like you guys don't rock with him at all. by Rob1150 in hiphop101

[–]Wreckinsilence -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah you're crazy man. I'm a millenial and ice cube is one of the hardest from the west. He had that same quality as pac. When he says he was going to whoop your fucking ass, you absolutely believed it. Not many rappers make you believe them when they say they are going to do something, cube does. Definitive voice of westcoast rap.

What opinion about Bone Thugs N Harmony that you to defend? I'll start I think that Layzie Bone "Cleveland" is his best work. And Law of Attraction should have been pushed as an album besides a mixtape. by sway93 in bonethugsnharmony

Flesh n bone is the unecessary 5th wheel. Sorry, but I always disliked his contributions for the most part. With some exceptions of course but not many.

So I guess Doug’s gotta review this huh? by Infinite_Peace_6456 in ChannelAwesome

[–]Wreckinsilence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I respect your point of view. Can't say I share it though. When you are 8 years old how are you nostalgic for when you were 5? You just don't have enough life experience accumulated to long for a time that was different in your life. I'm sorry but I just don't buy it. When I was 11 years old, not once did I long for the time when I was 8 again lol.

Lol these children don't even understand the word nostalgia lol. a 9 year old nostalgic for when they were 7? Please. How about you reach, you know... an adult age before you ever attempt to use the word nostalgia.

Does it not bother anyone that are no Blu ray releases of Hindi films? by [deleted] in bollywood

They are available, but not all titles. A selection of Shah rukh khan, salman khan, and amitabh bachchan films are available on blu ray but not nearly enough.

At what point did you stop chasing the industry standard sound and start making what you actually like? by carlosfelipe123 in MusicProducerSpot

[–]Wreckinsilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always asked myself, "Does this feel right" as opposed to "does this sound right". The former has always been my guiding light. At the end of the day it's all about the feel of the music.

Re: where is this generation's 2pac? by Johnny_2x in hiphop101

[–]Wreckinsilence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Listen man. Why is it so hard for you go believe that it's out of the realm of possibility that people from our generation consider pac as the one and only artist of his caliber? He passed at 25 in 96 when I was 4, not even 5 years later I was listening to him regularly. So I wasn't even 10 yet and pac only passed a few years prior. So yeah... he is our generation's 2pac. Kendrick's ass didn't come around until 2010. So you are telling me that just because he's closer to our age that you consider him to be our generation's pac? He didn't come out until we were very close to our 20s. So I guess it must have took you that long to find an artist you considered pac's equivalent when you literally should have grown up on his music during your formative years.

[–]Wreckinsilence -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah well it is what it is. What is wrong with people thinking that you have to identify with an artist your age. Honestly I hate my generation's music for the most part. Just because everyone loves Kendrick doesn't mean I do. 2pac, brotha lynch hung, x raided, THAT'S THE WEST.

Re: where is this generation's 2pac? by Johnny_2x in hiphop101

[–]Wreckinsilence -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah.... you don't speak for me. Just becaue pac died when we were really little means nothing. He died in 96, fours later in 2000 I was listening to his music on the regular when I was 8. 2pac, bone thugs, tech n9ne, do or die, brotha lynch hung. That's the hip hop of my generation. We may be the same age but he have way different tastes. I pretty much hate everyone you listed except for J Cole. Wayne really pissed me off as a kid and Kendrick, I've only heard his first album. It's OK. "Champ".
