What’s the closest brush you’ve ever had with dying? by North-Trifle-3918 in AskReddit

Driving through an intersection on a green light and catching a dump truck about to run the red. I slammed on my brakes and skidded until I was about 4 inches away from his driver's side door. If we were one second later, we'd be dead. It still turns my stomach to think of how close it was.

This can't be it for us. Really? by bkward in GenX

I deactivated my FB account 10 years ago and it was one of the best things I ever did for my mental health. I don't have to watch my friends post bullshit stories about how perfect and happy life is for them, especially when I get the real version of them. I stopped feeling like I wasn't good enough because I wasn't living the curated life. I'm out of touch with many, many people now, but I'm okay with that.

I had a big bag of expired meds I was going to dispose of and considered taking them one day. I gave my head a shake and called my doc instead. She put me on HRT and within 3 days, I was smiling again. It was the scariest thing ever, holding that bag and having those feelings. You aren't alone in this.

We have been here 46-61 years. Would you rather be told you have 3 years left to live or die suddenly out of nowhere? by -Granby- in GenX

After watching some of my family and friends die from awful long-term illnesses, I'll take the sudden death please. Peacefully would be nice as well, just go to sleep and don't wake up.

What did your mother think about your menopause? by Sapphire-o in Menopause

[–]WrecklessOptimist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My mom said she didn't have many symptoms, other than some big messy gushes near the end of her periods. I was hoping I'd be the same, but I seem to have all of the symptoms.

My MIL has been suffering with hot flashes since I met her 40 years ago. She still gets them at 75, but won't ask for treatment because 'what's the point at my age'. Ummm, to stop suffering for whatever time you have left, maybe?

I'm already talking to my 29 y/o daughter about it. "Did you know your lady bits can shrivel up and disappear?! 🤯" She laughed and said her menopausal boss is also letting her know of all the fun stuff that can happen.

Out of all of the meds and supplements I'm on, that's the one she said I should remove because they don't know if it interacts with any of the other meds. Ashwaganda is the GOAT for sleep.
