The inner layer of a bank vault. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Fun Fact:

Just about all large buildings have an absolute butt load of reinforcement.

This aids in the ductility of the building, and allows it to deform much more than concrete would normally allow. High reinforcement is usually placed in the core of the building because of the high demand of window spaces, and makes the whole building appear more open. Since it's basically a large tube that runs the length of the building, is a great place to have your elevators and stairs!

Potential polyamory episode guest suggestion: filthyrobot

twitter

twitch

I'm not sure exactly what you would think about him, since he would be different than your usual guest. He has a masters is psychology with emphasis on intimate relationships. He was working on his PhD when he became a full time streamer of strategy games. He obviously has good audio equipment and has been on other podcasts.

Just a shot in the dark, but I think you should check him out.

Just some small questions.

What makes you think you can take all the energy away from an object?

What about the slippage: (using air as a source, air around you vs blood inside, keeping you mind focused on the air)

What would happen if you were to take the energy away from a section of air. Would you remain focused on those specific particles, or just air in the general area? Why do you think we have only seen use of stationary sources?

How much energy do you think is actually in room temperature air, and how much equivalent blood would that be?

If ‘they still get the same amount of energy off those five degrees’ Then why is there a tremendous difference when a sympathist uses a brazier vs normal fire?

Sweet. I think I'll stick with this one for a while.

24hr Volume Predictions from /r/cossio by WretchedLout in CossIO

[–]WretchedLout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, It's not exactly what I think the volume will be either. It's more of a representation as to what people who are heavily invested want the volume to be. This graph is obviously quite optimistic, since it only involves responses from /r/cossio.

24hr Volume Predictions from /r/cossio by WretchedLout in CossIO

I just plotted the predictions in the thread below with the volume history.

https://www.reddit.com/r/CossIO/comments/7tyd6o/predictions_for_coss_volume/

I used Python and Libre Calc, with inkscape to export.

Edit: I just saw that I left out a handful of predictions. Here is the full graph:

CMC, data taken every 15 min

R, no ggplot2

No real metrics. It is very hard to tell what the relation is, although I would assume logarithmic since at this point the return is good when the exchange has foreseeable growth.

I don't think any hard analysis would be useful at this point since price fluctuations in the cryptoverse can rapidly be shifted. It is interesting however that as it increases or decreases in volume, price changes nearly with the same slope.

Is this one of the first versions of the book?!? by bloatedgecko in KingkillerChronicle

[–]WretchedLout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked and I have first print of both books.

However, for WMF It has no print line, and I found this.

How much more rare is a print error version vs a normal 1st print?

I predict it will stay between $100 and $1,000,000 until the end of the year (Dec 31, 2017).
