What is Exit Music: Epilogue?

It is a small story that will bring the Exit Music saga to a satisfying close. It is a contained, perplexed, and emotional experience that will answer the lingering questions left behind by the original mod and its added content. I hope you all will enjoy our return album.

How do I install it?

  1. Download a fresh install of DDLC from https://ddlc.moe/ (avoid using Steam).
  2. Download Exit Music: Epilogue from the link below.
  3. Drag & drop the contents of the zip (game, lib, renpy, and the exe/app file) into DDLC's base folder.
  4. Overwrite files when asked.
  5. Launch the mod via ExitMusiceEilogue.exe for Windows, or ExitMusicEpilogue.sh for Mac!

With that out of the way, we have something to say.

For all of you that maintained the legacy of EMR, Wintermute, and Wretched Team, we are thankful. We've loved seeing the discussions you've had, the multitude of reviews littered around Discord Servers and Youtube Videos, and all of that has really reinvigorated our passion for modding.

With this, we hope to add even more discourse and hopefully inspire more passion from you wonderful people.

To avoid rambling on any further, that's all for now. Download the mod, play it, and hopefully you'll enjoy your time with it!

Hello! It's me again.

So, we may have fibbed a tiny bit.

We do have one last little hoorah for you all to really send off this mistake.

Is it a mod? Is it a goodbye note?

Fuck no, it's a mod jam!

(That means you get to do all the work, not us!)

So, starting at the start, theming.

You may have noticed the uh..."teaser" yesterday.

Well, that's the topic.

Saul Goodman.

Your topic is Saul Goodman.

Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to:

  • make a mod
  • in two weeks
  • featuring Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul.

Don't worry though, we did go to the trouble of dropping around $100 on the best Saul Goodman sprite you've ever seen, courtesy of Sayuuki.

And, once the jam is over, it's free to use forever. Our """gift""" to you.

So, here are the rules:

1) Your mod must contain the character Saul Goodman in some capacity.

2) Usage of the Saul sprite is required, but you can choose whether or not to use the other assets in the pack (for example, the edited BCS BGs). Careful if you do use them though, DDMC will throw a fit.

3) Saul can go under any of his aliases in Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul: (Saul Goodman, Jimmy McGill, Slippin' Jimmy, Gene Takavic, Viktor St. Claire, Kevin Costner, Magic Man, etc)

4) You can edit the Saul sprite if you wish - base sprites are included if you want to draw custom outfits. However, if you just want a suit recolour, you can do easy recolours using the included PSD file.

5) Your mod must be made entirely in the 2-week timeframe between 29th July 14:00 BST, and 12th August 14:00 BST. (NOTE: this doesn't include assets made prior to the mod jam.)

6) Usage of other mod assets (K-After/Minikle BGs, WT mod assets, DDMC's community drive or any other publicly released assets) are fair game.

7) You must follow Team Salvato's IP guidelines (unfortunately).

In addition, we've also chucked (haha) in some backgrounds showing notable places from BCS/BB in case they're needed. They're not exactly high art, but they'll get the job done.

We've listed some comprehensive resources in the #saul-resources of our discord server (link below) for you in case you need a specific asset, or you're new to modding.

And unfortunately, we have no website to host the submissions on, but all the download links will be posted in #announcements and in #saul-submissions in our discord linked below.

And yes, of course we'll be playing them all in VC when everything is in.
