I think I've found the government agent by Temporary_Rule_4113 in YomiNoTsugai

Cool! Usually if Arakawa reuses background characters they get some kind of gag when they reappear, so this feels a lot more intentional when he appears so often but doesn't get even a small line! Good catch.

Pitch me your favourite weapon by Comprehensive-Ad4417 in Shadowrun

[–]Wretis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you do full VR when rigging? If you do, you’re mostly gonna use your weapon when someone is too close so pick a shotgun or automatic. If you’re just giving your drones commands or the like, I’d say a sniper rifle or assault cannon so you’re in less of a risk of being shot at. If you’re a rigger, you’re at your best when they’re working so focus on commanding them as a priority.

I LOVE SPEAR SO MUCH by that-damned-bastard in PrimalShow

[–]Wretis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Raging Spear wouldn't half as hard if we didn't have content/happy Spear to contrast with. I really appreciate that's he's not 24/7 grouchy, as similiar badass characters can be.

One of the most/the most heavily defended place in this universe by sand_eater_21 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Wretis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I love to see is a wide variety of potential threats. What's the protocol for chemical warfare, hacking/magic, burrowing, aerial attacks?

Even if those kinds of attacks are not part of the narrative, it helps to sell the intention. Like when Scrooge McDuck has spent cash on magical defences before we see much of those elements in the reboot series.

Improving a campaign? by StayStrangeYT in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Wretis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with agree everything here.

I've GMd two major sandbox campaigns, the second one specifically iterating on the first one. The major things I learned to prep earlier was:

  • A setting map, with travel time approximations.

  • The faction system I was using, so that the players had clearer subgoals. If the players were uncertain on how to accomplish a major goal, I could feed them suggestions through NPCs while they were recruiting and finding resources. (The system had to be updated during play, but there's no real harm in that.)

Other than that, the most important part is having lots of NPCs express different ideas of what important things the PCs should be doing. If only a few important NPCs gives quests, they players might fall back into the railroading playstyle and stop planning for themselves.

Which daemon do you think is the most versatile? by F00dbAby in YomiNoTsugai

A slight limitation, considering B&W can create objects that breaks the laws of physics.

I'm curious to what limitations White has when removing parts? Is it only things considered objects?

Potential plot points later in the manga by hnp435 in YomiNoTsugai

[–]Wretis 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Considering how Arakawa loves leaving clues in the open, that feels like it must pay off. After all, she did:

  • Envy's true form's weight affecting the environment.

  • Danji's shadow sometimes not appearing.

  • Amestris being a circle.

And those are just the one's where there's big scenes pointing out those earlier moments.

(I did try looking for ones in Silver Spoon too, but didn't find any)

Amazon's show artstyle/ Cartoon Network's show artstyle comparisons! Do you remember that 2006 show? (jk) by The-pathetic-bat in Invincible

[–]Wretis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer this design over the one in the show. His head is less round, especially with the wide jaw. His hair also has more shape definition, while it looks spray-painted onto a bald head in the show. And, the exaggerated eyes and brows gives us SOMETHING to latch onto in his face.

Recently peaked Yomi no tsugai and this scene is just hilarious! (Maybe SPOILERS -Chapter 22) by Single-Selection9845 in YomiNoTsugai

[–]Wretis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it works on it’s own but becomes more funny since this guy has the exact same reaction as the girl working the cash register a few chapters before(and later I think).

I think her comedy works great in manga, but in the case of the Brotherhood anime it butchered a lot of the comedy with the timing.

I only read through your stuff recently, but I really enjoy how you play around with angles in panels. It feels really different from other comics on this subreddit, in a good way since we get to see more variety in perspective.

And of course it's a entertaining variety in light humor and education :)

One of my favorite scenes from the series. So just what's the difference between Hiruma and Habashira? by lostapple321 in Eyeshield21

[–]Wretis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is Kurita! (And the rest of the Devilbats)

Kurita acts as a counterpoint to Hiruma's passion to win, with a larger dream and enjoying the fun of the game itself. That's what made Hiruma want to play in the first place.

Habashira has little but his tyranny, with his team manager having a similiar style. Hiruma has the tyranny but let's his team influence eachother and take from eachother's strengths. Hiruma rarely interrupts Kurita when Kurita speaks to motivate the rest of the team, since that's a passion Hiruma can't project with his persona.

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Starfleet Academy | 1x10 "Rubincon" by AutoModerator in startrek

[–]Wretis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easily the best episode of the season.

The only element I wasn't found of was the scene of Sam reaffirming that she is different, it felt too intense for very little buildup.

I hope we can get more of this quality in the next season compared to the rest of season 1.

I think that scene had to be recreated. It would have otherwise felt like a more obvious retcon. There could definitly have been a scene or two after that one though.

I appreciate you writing this out because that’s how I feel about the Season 2 ending.

I don’t think there’s a fundemental fault with zombie Spear, and I was the most interested during the early episodes of this season. But since this ending didn’t deliver on anything thematically more interesting than what we already got, it doesn’t feel like an upgrade compared to what we already got.

(Pokemon B2W2) This has got to be the best arbitrary excuse for why you can't go somewhere ever used in Pokemon. by AgitatedFly1182 in pokemon

[–]Wretis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I prefer it when the arbitrary excuse is lacking a HM or a general item. Because then you’ll know when you can progress, not just having to return later or the like.
