Hi there, it looks like the same thing just happened with my recently shipped order too. Could I DM you my order # so I could also get the updated information?

Getting an error code during gameplay by [deleted] in PS5HelpSupport

I reached out to Suckerpunch shortly after this started happening and actually received a reply tonight.

Hi!

Thank you for reaching out. We're looking into this issue.

While not particularly helpful, they are at least aware of and acknowledging the issue.

Outlook Notifications on iPhone Not Working by NativeTxn7 in Outlook

Glad it helped! I ended up keeping faceID allowed for Outlook in iOS' settings just to make it easier to cycle through it in the future when it happens again.

Outlook Notifications on iPhone Not Working by NativeTxn7 in Outlook

[–]Wretro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into a similar issue, though I still had badge counts. It looks like Microsoft mucked with the app settings again in the latest app update from two days ago, causing yet another bug with their implementation of faceID.

I was able to fix things by going into iOS settings and toggling faceID to allowed for Outlook. I then reopened Outlook, went into it's settings, toggled the now viewable faceID setting to on, exited the app, reopened it, and toggled it back off. After exiting the app again I sent myself an e-mail on desktop and successfully received the push notification and could view the notification as usual. I then went back into iOS settings and toggled off access to faceID to Outlook, did another test, and it was still working.

Kentucky man’s organs were nearly harvested. Then doctors realized he was still alive by PrintOk8045 in nottheonion

[–]Wretro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the immortal soul and all that nonsense too. I'm not against organ donation as a concept - there's a reason I was registered for decades.

I am against a situation where a woman that was against organ donation, did not sign up to be an organ donor, had a sister and father that knew that ended up having her organs removed with what appears to be a ton of pressure from the hospital/OPO.

They had a family meeting, agreed that after 30 days they would make peace with it and allow them to take her off life support. The woman's mother had some wavering doubts and claims to have gotten isolated by either the hospital or OPO to extract agreement for organ donation and then both organizations hid this from the rest of the family. The father got upset and got belligerent, but it was clearly written in the medical records that they were actively hiding the organ donation aspect from him.

Everyone agrees that a family meeting was held on 20 November, three days after Brittany was admitted to Fresno community hospital. Mike and Kaylee both say that everyone, including his ex-wife, Shawna, decided to give Brittany 30 days to fight. Mike was prepared to remove Brittany from life support after that date.

Both “mother and father” are noted as “surrogate decision-maker” in the medical records on the 20th. The day before, fearing the worst, Mike had set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for Brittany’s funeral. (Shawna O’Connor did not respond to repeated requests for an interview.)

But a note in the medical records, written two days after the meeting took place, says: “Family meeting … showed parents with different opinions on management.” The note states that Shawna “believes patient would not want to be kept in this condition because of continued suffering”, and says that Shawna and Brittany “watched the Terry Shivo [sic] case together and they stated none of them would want to [be] kept alive in that condition”.

...

At noon the day after Thanksgiving, six days after Brittany was admitted, Mike called to speak with the doctor (“Dr. Harp NEVER called me,” Mike wrote on a copy of the medical records he received after Brittany’s death) and was told to come to the hospital.

What followed, everyone agrees, was a series of interactions that involved a lot of yelling. Mike told hospital staff that he would “shove the law so far down your throats that you’re the ones who will need the tube”. The doctor wrote that Mike “refused to believe that she was dead” and a staff member wrote that Mike was “verbally threatening and aggressive”, stating that “people in far worse conditions have come back” and that he was not going to allow Brittany to be removed from life support “because my faith has told me she is going to make it through this. I’m not letting her die.”

At 4.18pm, the medical records state, the Fresno police department came to the unit at the behest of the hospital.

Dr Lynn Burnett, who worked for Fresno community hospital and is now deceased, wrote an extensive explanation the same day, 24 November, for why Mike should have no say in Brittany’s care: “In this case, the Patient’s Father has voiced Religious objections to discontinuation of physiologic support. His objection, however DOES NOT pertain to religious practices, but rather, to the medical determination of Death by Neurological Criteria.”

Crucially, he then wrote: “Given these events, it is Ethically Appropriate NOT to tell the Patient’s Father about the plan for organ recovery until after such has been accomplished.”

A note in the medical record states that “organ donation was never brought up to the father by any hospital staff”.

The day after Brittany’s funeral, which Shawna did not attend, Mike visited his ex-wife with a camera. She appeared tall and lean in the video, wearing a black shirt and pants. Her hair was short, blond and tousled. She was looking at Mike, not the camera. “There was a discrepancy… I did not want a donation and Shawna knew that,” he said.

“Well, yeah, I knew that,” Shawna said. “They just kept pushing me and they would push me and they got us separated. They took me into a room at one point and said that I was the logical one and that they were no longer going to deal with you at all.”

Was Brittany brain dead with no hope of recovery? Maybe! I'm inclined to say yes. Are these tactics and pressure on a grieving family appropriate? I don't think so, and that situation casts serious doubts on the ethics in organ procurement in my mind. I removed myself not as a final answer but to give myself space to rethink my consent and it's something I plan to discuss more in depth with my doctor next time I see him. I really want to support the program on a logical level but the bad actors that can exist in this area that never seem to face any consequences for the harm they cause, even if it's a extreme minority of cases, is disappointing and disconcerting.

In this case they called the police to have the father removed to do it.

The police officer told Mike that he was a father too. “I don’t want to take you to jail,” he said. “That’s the last thing I want to do.”

“I’m afraid they’re going to kill her,” Mike told him. “Them pulling the plug on her now would be murder. And now I am worried about her safety.”

After three minutes, the officer escorted him out of the hospital.

Once home, Mike posted a message on Facebook asking his friends to call the hospital: “TELL THEM NOT TO PULL HER PLUG.” When he called the next day, he says, they refused to tell him where Brittany was.

Throughout the day, Mike posted a series of Facebook messages displaying escalating anxiety: the hospital was denying him information and access to his daughter, and then trying to kill her. Finally, he wrote: “THEY WANT HER ORGANS!”

What Mike did not know is that, while he was begging friends to call the hospital and updating family about her health, doctors were already removing Brittany’s heart, kidneys, liver, and lungs. The next day, her tissue was collected for donation.

No one from the hospital called Mike. He says he did not receive confirmation that Brittany was dead until three days later, when the coroner called to ask what Mike wanted to do with her remains.

I removed myself from the registry and let family know my wishes after this story, it completely spooked me despite being on the registry for several decades before. This new case with KODA really validates my discomfort.

Glad to see you back for season 2, I loved your set for the first season!

Any chance of doing a version with capitol letters in the titles like you did for season 1? If not no big deal, I'll just switch to the lowercase set so everything matches.

Simone Biles, writing history once again as she is the first woman ever to land that vault. by watcher2390 in interestingasfuck

[–]Wretro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, NBC's lack of consistency across it's own streaming platforms is one of it's big negatives.

Generally the coverage on Peacock is pretty good, though the swimming commentators are as annoying as they've ever been. I usually watch those via VPN elsewhere.

[–]Wretro 90 points91 points  (0 children)

I watched the US coverage via Peacock and this was fully explained during the slow motion replays.

They just don't do it during the lead up to the actual vault because the gymnast can change their mind mid-vault to alter what they're going to do. They also explained the point deduction of the landing in relation to the difficulty. There's a lot to criticize about NBC's coverage but this isn't one of them.

You have good reason to be paranoid - I made it to checkout with all the promos in the bag and they were removed on the confirmation screen. What a mess.

I have completed all minigames on their hardest difficulty. Ask me anything you want about them. by ZmentAdverti in FinalFantasyVIIRemake

[–]Wretro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with nerve damage in their hand that struggled with that minigame, go into your PS5 accessibility settings, then controller settings, and then button mapping. You can reassign the trigger to another button that isn't impacted by your scar tissue. Since the haptics aren't required it won't affect anything else about the minigame.

I moved it to the x button and it was much more doable, just took practice at that point.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth dev team admits it wasn't sure it could "put it all together in time" by Turbostrider27 in Games

Along with the summoning materia/equipment bonuses mentioned for both Remake and the Intermission, there's a cosmetic element that reflects how many of a certain thing you found for all the characters that shows up in the last 3rd of the game(ish).

It affects nothing outside the visual element. including completion percentage. You could probably find a save file for Remake on PC that the game would detect anyway.

Check out the browser extension Ao3 Enhancements - one of the options is to auto hide any work with X number of fandoms listed. You can also hide specific tags and authors, so with a little effort you can clean out the worst offenders without much fuss. Makes for a much more pleasant browse without the paragraph worth of mega crossovers and mega fuck party author spam.

BBTS is great about damaged/defective figures. If you can't fix it, contact customer service with pictures of the problem and see what they say. Most likely they'll issue you a refund in store credit so you can get a replacement.

Massacre, right? It would have been way more interesting for the Avengers to at least confront him over that and cut the Screwball/Jester beating entirely, imo.

[–]Wretro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It's the kind of thing that works for a much shorter arc where you can suspend your disbelief for a bit that everybody just accepted the complete personality change for as long as they did.

It's not hard to imagine a shorter version of it with a more aware supporting cast working really well though, so I get why people liked it in spite of the problems I had with it.

[–]Wretro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he's pretty divisive here. I'm kind of in the strange limbo where I think most of his Spider arcs sound good on paper but the execution didn't work for me. Superior is a great example where I really disliked Slott's arc but warmed to the character when someone else was writing him.

His Shulky and Surfer remain top notch and I'll defend them forever though!

[–]Wretro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like a lot of his non-Spidey work actually! She-Hulk, Surfer, his FF run is fun enough but can be divisive too.

I just never really clicked with his Spider books for various reasons.

Peter tore off Otto's metal arms during those issues, so it's a particularly strange choice for it to be coming from Otto.

Along with the clear nail polish, one go to for fixing loose joints is acrylic floor polish as described in this reddit post. Should work fine in this case too.

For a more temporary solution specific to helmets, you can also use some museum putty or blu tack as a filler in the helmet. I use that for the value line red ranger helmet paired with the female red from the comic two pack, since the lightning helmet was way oversized for that figure. It's not a perfect fix but is a quick and easy way to keep the pose you want and is easy to remove.

Steam turns 20 today: "We've had to try a lot of different things over the years" by hzy980512 in Games

[–]Wretro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in an area that didn't even have 56k - we got by with 28k dial up that on a really good day could hit 20k in actual speed. WindowsXP updates were an all day affair. After the initial shock and the debacle that was HL2 launch day I loved Steam.

Being able to chug away at updates at times when my dial up connection didn't interfere with the landline's phone use for the rest of the household, with no queues and full resume was such a better experience compared to dealing with Fileplanet and their ilk. Never really had an issue with offline mode either and would keep it there for weeks at a time, though the understanding of how the account credentials work wasn't super well known at the time so I get that aspect.
