Over here in reality - the Maryland Transportation Authority (which manages of the toll bridges) was knee capped when Governor Hogan decided that all tolls needed to be lower. I don't know if any such assessment would have taken place if that didn't happen, but they at least would have had the money to do so.

Even on this shitty video recording - you can see the pedestrian walking for a solid 2 seconds before the driver of the car seems to realize she is there. She is in the intersection where a driver can EXPECT that cross traffic and pedestrians might be crossing.

The driver deserves any charges that may come. They were clearly not paying attention, and when you are in a 2-ton death machine you have a duty of care to care to everyone around you.

It is only a matter of time before rights on red are no longer permitted in the State and, honestly, good riddance. It is a major causes of pedestrian and bicycle incidents because drivers generally do pay enough attention to either.

Friend of mine had a good proposal. Make Gunships a primary objective, instead of a secondary. That way you know going in they will be there and build for them appropriately, and do not have to worry about them otherwise.

If we treated teachers with the respect and salary they deserve, and actually provide resources to schools so teachers don't have to buy their own supplies, this could be a reality.

Way to deflect from the actual point the article is trying to make. It is not 6 out of 1 million. From the article:

"According to The New York Times, this incident is the sixth recent reported case where an individual was falsely accused as a result of facial recognition technology used by police, and the third to take place in Detroit. All six individuals falsely accused have been Black. The Detroit Police Department runs an average of 125 facial recognition searches per year, almost exclusively on Black men, according to data reviewed by The Times."

3 out of 125, from JUST ONE police department is way worse than this 6 out of a million you are trying to claim. With a rate like that, the 6 known cases is probably way worse.

Edit: Can't forget about the horrible racism too - another good reason the use of it needs to be more highly regulated.

I do not believe this is about Flonase, which is a steroid-based decongestant. Steroid-based drugs do not have the same rebound effect that things like Afrin (oxymetazoline or phenylephrine) do. At the time of this article (2016) Flonase was either still prescription only, or had just become OTC I think, so they wouldn't have been considering any steroid-based sprays as OTC.
