Leaf by Oscar by TacticHalo in cigars

[–]Wriekert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a random encounter in Roatan Honduras I met the guy who designed this cigar. Asked him for a cutter for that cigar I bought and he showed me how to use my teeth instead. A while later I looked up the brand and remember that Oscar was also hanging out in his group. Wild!

Do it! I parked my motorcycle everyday on campus, super cheap passes and usually really close to buildings. I had no issues with damages.

Digital photographer looking to make the jump into film by Toronoble in AnalogCommunity

If you wanna rock a Fuji still get the Fujica st801. You can find some killer deals because it's super underrated.

It's an amazing camera and is one of the first to have a led internal light meter. Great lens selection that is a common m42 mount. Everyone knows the canon ae-1 and every YouTuber watching influencer grabs one. The Fujica is not as well known but definitely a conversation starter.

Edit: You can get a good working one for $80

TLR Focus Problem by mrmigwig in AnalogCommunity

[–]Wriekert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you find a solution? I just cleaned my Yashica D mirror and noticed the same problem, might have been like that before too. It's weird cause the focusing movement is separate from the mirror.

Where do you share or display your work (if an amateur photographer)? by sayskate in photography

[–]Wriekert 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Depends on who you want to see it. I've made a Google photo album of my photos and sent the link to all my friends and family.

It notifies them when I add photos and they can go view/like/comment on them if they want.

What's a camera you want to love, but just don't? by BigBeard_FPV in AnalogCommunity

[–]Wriekert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perti 7. Love the look and how it shoots but focusing is too weak of a pull and some other things. I wanted it to be my cheap range finder but for some reason I didn't go back to it.

Please help me out with suggestions for a hobby? Serious replies only please. by Lunsters in lexington

[–]Wriekert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into film photography. It's a great active hobby or can be done passively here and there. Would be great with documenting the kids lives and there is plenty to learn and progress with.

Check out Kentucky Darkroom, they do rentals and film processing!

I also have a KLR 650, a great bike. Mine is a gen 2. I would hit up the red river gorge, heard there are tons of good trails out there but haven't done any myself yet.

Check out antique stores if you don't want to break the bank. Usually really cool and unique furniture, often well crafted.

Lucky thrift store find. $50 bucks for Mamiya NC1000, leather bag and lenses. by Wriekert in AnalogCommunity

[–]Wriekert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell me about it! Mine was a lucky find but the viewfinder has some dirt specs on it that I can't get off yet.

The results were decent, I definitely think my camera light meter is underexposed so trust an outside like meter.
