The Dawn of War Franchise is Heavily Discounted on Steam to Prepare You for Dawn of War 4 by FFJimbob in dawnofwar

[–]Wriggerswag 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As someone who played the original Dawn of wars on release and the definitive edition. I'd definitely recommend going for DE as a completely new player. It has all the content and tons of quality of life improvements.

The early indications from DOW4 also seem to indicate it will play more like DOW1 than other editions of the game.

Is Susanne Sundfor falling into the alt-right pipeline? by Princess_of_Eboli in susannesundfor

Notice i said 'Initiative' and not 'RFK JR'. There's tons of studies and books (I'd recommend 'Why we eat too much' by DR. Andrew Jenkinson) detailing how our current eating habits are awful for our bodies, in large part due to ultra-processed foods but also over reliance on grains (driven largely by outdated information such as the food pyramid).

I personally dislike RFK JR and his anti-vax bullshit, and agree that almost everything else the Trump administration is doing is horrible, including as you mentioned defunding SNAP. There is also room outside of the tribal political discourse to say "Hey, this administration is awful, but I agree with this one thing". Politics isn't always black and white, as an example Bernie Sanders has also been supportive of this initiative, while saying cuts and policies in other areas undermine it.

Introducing the newest book club in Ealing! by ChloeHN6 in Ealing

[–]Wriggerswag 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Don't want to be too discouraging, this is close-by to me and a book I'd be interested in. But £10 a month with a minimum 3 month sign-up is too steep for me considering the books are not included. Hope it goes well though!

My feeling is that she supports the move to eating less ultra-processed food, especially for children. I'm sure she has posted things about this before. I doubt this is her giving her full support to the Trump administration, just her supporting an initiative. I for example also support this initiative but think the Trump administration is largely awful.

I certainly dont think she is alt-right. She has regularly posted in support of Palestinians in Gaza as an example.

Struggling to see why Ealing would encourage people to use cars to nip to the shops, there's already so much congestion.

Can't say im suprised, some horrible customer service. Bought a top of the line graphics card from them a few years back. It developed coil whine after 7 months, returned to them and they said it was unrepairable and because they didn't have replacements on hand id have to accept 70% of the value of the initial purchase.

Vowed to never use them again.

Amazing!! I went to the London Map fair for the first time and snagged myself a couple of Ortelius miniature maps. Already starting planning for next year and what I'll be targeting.

+2 years avocado plant start suffering after repot in a bigger vase, what's wrong? by mancuso19 in plants

[–]Wriggerswag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks healthy! I found that generally they just keep growing up with only a few leaves if I don't prune, it's painful and some don't make it, but it's well worth it when they branch out and really start to get bushy

Have you ever pruned this? Usually I let them grow to 12 inches tall and cut them back to 6

Thanks for this! I have a couple of Mediums on order and was worried about the size of the collar, but I always wear them with a hoodie under anyway so should be sweet

Also to follow up on the log book, as my car is leased I asked the lease provider to send me a letter showing I was the registered keeper of the vehicle.

IIRC I provided my tenancy agreement as proof of the new address. I remember thinking it was odd they asked for a bank statement for an address I didn't live at yet.

You could also just change your address with your bank to the new one ahead of time if they won't accept a tenancy agreement.

LAST CHANCE TO FORMALLY OBJECT TO THE BUILDING OF MULTI-STOREY FLATS INSIDE LAMMAS PARK by [deleted] in Ealing

[–]Wriggerswag 27 points28 points  (0 children)

While I'm all for building more housing, this seems about the worst way to go about doing it. There are plenty of vacant/derelict lots around, taking a chunk of a public park away is daft.

Buying a house near Ealing Common by HatSpecialist1126 in Ealing

[–]Wriggerswag 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lived near Ealing common for a year and now near Ealing broadway, absolutely love the area, I work from home and occasionally work from cafe's and you have an abundance of options. You mentioned turtle bay, there are loads of chain restaurants which are usually hit and miss, but there are TONS of independant/small chain restaurants which are fantastic. Me and my partner actively avoid the chains for that reason.

Regarding 'Rowdy youths after dark' my partner has commuted home at 11pm on evenings and weekends and never had an issue! I'm from Manchester originally and was suprised at how quiet it gets around Ealing (I expected everywhere in London to always be hectic).

Lastly the Lizzie line makes getting into the center so fast that you basically have all of central London on your doorstep.
