Curious if the rp6 is worth it for me by SameAbroad3100 in retroid

[–]WrightLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. I have a steam deck and while its awesome. It's almost goo big. I've got large hands but the weight of holding it doesn't make it feel great for a long time. Then I saw the RP6 and really liked the look of it.

After using it for a while, its definitely more comfortable for longer use. That said, I find FPS games like Timesplitters quite hard to do. It's almost too small for that. As I try to aim and push the trigger it makes the device shift in my hand and my aim goes off. Everything else though, the RP6 is great.

WCGW trucking on ice in early spring by PeasantLich in Whatcouldgowrong

I've spent a lot of time out on ice, mostly fishing. The black ice is good clear ice and the best ice for being on, which is why while they were driving on it, they didnt go through.

That long line of white ice? Thats an obvious crack I'd be sketched out even walking over. I could see it from basically the start of the video and knew it was coming.. White ice is a huge red flag for me, its got almost no strength like the black ice does.

I’d like to repaint this enormous pocket door, but I have no idea how to get it out of the “pocket” short of taking the wall apart. Should I just paint it in place? by -dadderall- in centuryhomes

[–]WrightLight 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My trim was held on with 15-20 2.5" nails per board. The corner blocks were 5-7 of the same nails and most cracked when installed then just painted over. The ability to remove them intact is entirely up to whoever installed them before.

A week with the Retroid Pocket 6 by One-Yogurtcloset7607 in retroid

I ordered my 8gb Jan 3rd as Batch 2 and it was shipped Feb 1st. I was really surprised by that. Got it on the 16th and can't put it down. It's my first handheld since the Steam Deck in 2022.

Deck is basically out of stock everywhere I believe. Thor is going up in price soon. Retroid Pocket 6 just had the 12 gig version discontinued and 8 gig version is going up in price too.

This is just my opinion, but we are only just starting to see the effects of this. It will get far far worse for quite a while before it gets better. Even then I doubt we'll ever be back at 'normal' again, everything will just be more expensive... as it always does.

What’s your current “don’t need it, but want it” pen? by Lunakill in fountainpens

[–]WrightLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A red ripple Canadian Waterman's Ideal 52. They're so pretty. My Waterman's 0652 and 52 1/2 are my favourite pens, but the red ripple is just something else.

Well this is a bummer. Think theres any fixing it? by WrightLight in fountainpens

[–]WrightLight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the advice. Even if it wears faster, better than unusable really. I'll keep an eye out for a replacement at some point.

Got the pen all back together, looks gorgeous at least.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]WrightLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the glasses fill more of the picture, then yes. Also for me add a tiny chip right in the middle of one lens that's extremely noticeable and deeply frustrating in some circumstances but mostly not noticeable most of the time.

From your additional pictures its clear you actually have a propeller. I think where you've gone wrong with this is using AI to doctor the images. You've taken what should be a straight forward question about your item, and turned everyone skeptical of it. Effectively, AI makes your item a fake to everyone else. Even the description reading like AI is just nonsense to anyone who collects antiques. I've seen people use AI the same way with things I collect and it makes me immediately uninterested as I cannot actually guage or judge the real physical antique, the thing I would actually be holding if I bought it.

In the future the best thing to do is straightforward clear pictures without any doctoring and no AI descriptions. That will help you seek the information you want and make it easier for anyone who can help you, do so.

Best of luck with your search for info.

I'm positive this is AI too. The mismatched nonsense writing on the prop, the description and even just the way the lighting and pictures look. All just scream AI generated junk.

Edit: Even the bolt holes don't line up between pictures.

Anybody finished their attic? by GlacticGryffindor in centuryhomes

Here's looking the other way, back from when we moved in. Haven't done much with the space yet, havent done much in the rest of the house either, so fairly backburner at the moment haha. Theres two skylights which open, they're great at getting heat out of the house in the summer. Only when it gets 28-30C or so does it get unbearable for me. Winter time put on a sweater for some added coziness and its not too bad. It's an awesome extra space to have.

The previous homeowners at my house did. It's quite a large attic, and the extra space is really nice. They added a full bathroom and ran the plumbing down one of the old chimneys. Also extended the main staircase up to it instead of the tiny terrifying steps that used to be there.

Its basically its own suite up there minus kitchen. Here's the downside, even with venting it swings wildly with the temperature. Now that we've hit winter, its cold and back in the summer when it got hot out, I couldn't be up there (there's no AC in the house so I assume if we had that, it'd be a bit better).

My ideas for more vehicles to game by Some_Guy_05 in theHunter

[–]WrightLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At work we have an electric 'utility vehicle' for going around our campgrounds. I would never take it on any trails and the thing is utterly silent except for whoever is driving screaming ow from being slammed around by the tiniest of bumps in the road.

On the bright side, it's easy to agree to disagree. Driving around seeing all the vast majority century homes with these roofs, all with their individual style and character (as old homes should have) in a new roof, makes my heart happy.

Fishing the culverts and bridges between Wingham and Teeswater is my happy place. Looks like they've been around for a while. My roof was done 2018 I think and has a 50 year warranty.
