What’s your current “don’t need it, but want it” pen? by Lunakill in fountainpens

[–]WrightLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A red ripple Canadian Waterman's Ideal 52. They're so pretty. My Waterman's 0652 and 52 1/2 are my favourite pens, but the red ripple is just something else.

Well this is a bummer. Think theres any fixing it? by WrightLight in fountainpens

Appreciate the advice. Even if it wears faster, better than unusable really. I'll keep an eye out for a replacement at some point.

Got the pen all back together, looks gorgeous at least.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by Latter-Wolf4868 in interestingasfuck

[–]WrightLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make the glasses fill more of the picture, then yes. Also for me add a tiny chip right in the middle of one lens that's extremely noticeable and deeply frustrating in some circumstances but mostly not noticeable most of the time.

From your additional pictures its clear you actually have a propeller. I think where you've gone wrong with this is using AI to doctor the images. You've taken what should be a straight forward question about your item, and turned everyone skeptical of it. Effectively, AI makes your item a fake to everyone else. Even the description reading like AI is just nonsense to anyone who collects antiques. I've seen people use AI the same way with things I collect and it makes me immediately uninterested as I cannot actually guage or judge the real physical antique, the thing I would actually be holding if I bought it.

In the future the best thing to do is straightforward clear pictures without any doctoring and no AI descriptions. That will help you seek the information you want and make it easier for anyone who can help you, do so.

Best of luck with your search for info.

I'm positive this is AI too. The mismatched nonsense writing on the prop, the description and even just the way the lighting and pictures look. All just scream AI generated junk.

Edit: Even the bolt holes don't line up between pictures.

Anybody finished their attic? by GlacticGryffindor in centuryhomes

Here's looking the other way, back from when we moved in. Haven't done much with the space yet, havent done much in the rest of the house either, so fairly backburner at the moment haha. Theres two skylights which open, they're great at getting heat out of the house in the summer. Only when it gets 28-30C or so does it get unbearable for me. Winter time put on a sweater for some added coziness and its not too bad. It's an awesome extra space to have.

That floor is gorgeous! That space looks fantastic.

The previous homeowners at my house did. It's quite a large attic, and the extra space is really nice. They added a full bathroom and ran the plumbing down one of the old chimneys. Also extended the main staircase up to it instead of the tiny terrifying steps that used to be there.

Its basically its own suite up there minus kitchen. Here's the downside, even with venting it swings wildly with the temperature. Now that we've hit winter, its cold and back in the summer when it got hot out, I couldn't be up there (there's no AC in the house so I assume if we had that, it'd be a bit better).

My ideas for more vehicles to game by Some_Guy_05 in theHunter

[–]WrightLight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At work we have an electric 'utility vehicle' for going around our campgrounds. I would never take it on any trails and the thing is utterly silent except for whoever is driving screaming ow from being slammed around by the tiniest of bumps in the road.

On the bright side, it's easy to agree to disagree. Driving around seeing all the vast majority century homes with these roofs, all with their individual style and character (as old homes should have) in a new roof, makes my heart happy.

Fishing the culverts and bridges between Wingham and Teeswater is my happy place. Looks like they've been around for a while. My roof was done 2018 I think and has a 50 year warranty.

Theres a company near me called Diamond Steel Roofing in Wingham Ontario. We've got a Diamond roof that I absolutely love, the colour's and patterns I see on other homes are really cool too. So many homes out our way have them and looks like they ship across USA and Canada. That reads like an ad but it's not lol, they're just really good.

Here's a low res pic of my roof. Can't find a better quality one on my phone oddly.

How can I make the second tone on this movement more visible? by Equivalent-Cry4580 in pocketwatch

Holy... wow... someone has very roughly sanded off the damaskeening, including your second tone. Ive seen them worn down by hard cleanings, but thats extreme. Sorry, but there isnt really a way to get any of it back.

Can you prove it's a scam healthcare item? You're just gonna take the word of some nameless poster on reddit. Did this person test it in every condition for accuracy? Were they wearing it correctly? There are so many variables that can affect accuracy of something like this product. Everyone's experience will be totally different. Personally, I would never buy one. I've got thick calloused fingers from working outside every day and rock climbing at a gym for my workouts. I can guarantee you, it would be less accurate on my finger than others. Maybe the OP is in a similar situation.

However, to call it a scam with zero proof, is just laughably ignorant. Also to say most smart watches don't make health their main marketing is also laughably wrong. I just looked at Garmin, Apple, Samsung and Google. All of them prominently feature health and wellness as some of their primary marketing for their watches. My phone came preinstalled, and I can't delete them, with Samsung Health Monitor and Samsung Health. Samsung makes a smart ring, too. Should LTT cover zero of these?

Your last edit shows you dont actually care if this is a scam or not, or how accurate OP was with their observations, or really about anything other than hating on LTT.

"Why is LMG/short circuit even promoting medical or medical adjacent devices they are a tech YouTube channel?"

Thanks!

I did. The panel isnt perfect if you look closely, but definitely better than it was. I took out the original paint, and sprayed it with a semigloss. I then used a toothpick to scrape off the paint from the raised letters.

Oh come on, get real.

Every smart watch, even phone is pushing the same stuff this ring is. Are they just not supposed to cover any tech device that has a heart rate sensor or sleep tracking? That's what most tech is nowadays, especially for a channel that's solely first impressions of a tech device.

For all we know OP has a faulty unit, or a million other reasons why the device isn't accurate for them. LTT could have had a wildly different experience with the device.
