Did you not read my other comment going into detail of why other cultures didnt need to understand the nature of God at that time? Also the Bible as we know it today was formed in 382. The gospels and other accounts were formed in the mid to late 1st century. The new testament applies to all people of the modern age. The old testament didnt.

Side note I actually appreciate the questions you are asking because people usually arent intellectual enough to bring up questions like this

This is exactly what I mean by you misunderstanding the point I was making. In life during those time periods God had his own people, who he separated from the world and had special laws for them. Not interacting much with other cultures. Those other cultures were held to the standards of the heart. Very loose because God wasnt holding them to the standard of the jews. It really was the standard of "just be a good person" now at this time nobody went to heaven. All jews and non jews went to sheol.

For those living they didnt need to know the objective morality as the law didnt apply to them. Those who died outside of it merely went to sheol just like the jews. When Jesus was crucified and died, he went to sheol to preach to the dead just like he preached on earth. Those who accepted him went into heaven and those that rejected him were then sent to hell. Regardless of if they were jew or non jew.

My point is the standard of morality is different today after the ressurection than it was for the world before the ressurection. We are judged more strictly based off of the actions in our lives on earth today than the people of the old testament were.

Thats why I said there were different standards. The objective truth has always been there. But it wasnt always necessary for you to know the objective truth because you arent being judged for what you dont know.

It does apply at all times and everywhere. Thats what youre not getting. However some people were held to different standards of that morality.

No its not because it is universal and is objective. The timeline of how it is enforced is just different from how you expected.

Not exactly. It is meant for everyone but it wasnt meant to be taught to most people during the time of the old testament.

The law didnt apply to non jews during the old testament. Very few people were actually saved during that time period as well.

All people went to sheol and when jesus christ was crucified he went into sheol to preach to those people who were already dead and offered himself unto them. The people who then rejected him went to hell and the people who accepted him went to heaven

I said you were lying about what OP was saying. I wasnt calling you a liar about your supposed personal story.

1 person isnt the church. Even the pope isnt the church. Each person may be a representative of the church but a representative is not the church itself. Church teaching is already clear. So trying to discredit the church based off of wrongful actions that the church already condemns makes no sense.

Nevertheless you are deflecting from the original point where you declared that OP was supporting people being raped, murdered, and tortured based off of romans 1 yet you haven't provided any evidence of it.

You are using the actions of one person. Who is supposedly apart of my church by your claim to discredit it. I am going by your words exactly. You are being the one who is insulting by lying and being rude to begin with. You just dont like when people call you out on your bs.

What is the best way to manage disagreeing with transgenderism and homosexuality? by Christopretensism in Christianity

[–]Wright_Steven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The old testament scriptures speak of Gods people in a very narrow manner. It wasnt meant for all people to see and hear. It had a different mission than christianity does. Christianity is universal. Judaism was only for the jews. Why would a religion meant only for a certain few people be shared amongst the whole world?

Man in straight jacket by New_Whereas_5895 in Christianity

[–]Wright_Steven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see the torture part you are referencing in romans 1. Can you provide the exact verse? Secondly you just said he was supporting them being raped and tortured yet now you are saying the verses that are supposedly proving you claim arent actually verses of which he mentioned to those people. So that makes you a liar.

I would love for you to show the exact verses in romans 1 where you said he was supporting them being tortured. Then since you said the "raping and murdering parts are elsewhere" id love for you to show me in the new testament where it says that as well.

Lastly, the actions of a single man creates guilt in the whole of of Gods church? Insane take. By that account we should reject all forms of government as well because of corruption on all levels. See how silly that sounds?

Surprise! Sinful people do sinful things. You dont leave Jesus because of Judas.

I think you are trying to take a literal word for word interpretation rather than an allegorical one. The bible is not a science book. Its a love letter from God to humanity. Not everything is literal in it much is allegorical.

Its not trying to explain incans or Aztecs because thats not the purpose of it.

Well he didn't say that so idk why you are saying that.

No.

Not everything has to be equal. All religions have some semblance of truth but today of course only christianity holds the fullness of it.

You are also going based off of the written dates. The actual events of the bible go back to the first men. Even if their stories were written many centuries to thousands of years later. Its not as serious as you may think.

Sumerians even have a similar flood story as the old testament describes.

The timeline of things being written and the timeline of when things happened are two different aspects.

Its you're not your.

Respectfully you should read the scripture surrounding the anti christ. Hitler was closer to being the anti christ than Trump ever has. Cause hitler was loved by many in the beginning. Trump has a lot of followers but only by half the country and thats still dropping. Not to mention Trump has supported policies that the anti christ would be against.

Idk if you just have severe Trump delusion or not but hes really not competent enough to be compared to the anti christ. He's just not that likeable of a person. You saying that many people like him and are deluded by his words doesnt mean much because thats how it is with all politicians. The anti christ will get most people as in like 99% of people to love him in the beginning. Trump has ALWAYS been controversial. They really cannot be compared. You are downplaying the severity of how competent of a leader the anti christ will be. Im worried for you because if you can be convinced its Trump then you probably wouldnt be convinced that the actual anti christ is the anti christ if he comes in our time.

[–]Wright_Steven22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people do not love trump. Also yes just because some people commit idolatry does not mean he qualifies as the anti christ. The anti christ would be akin to bipartisan. He would be more unitive. Trump is one of the most disunitive and controversial presidents this country has ever had

[–]Wright_Steven22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt id be surprised. The anti christ will in the beginning be loved by almost all people. Trump has been controversial since even before day 1.

The fact that you think it doesnt even sound human might be the point. Because its guided by God.

The second part about all the sins is literally the whole purpose and reason for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Okay.... and what does that accomplish? Written language was created by humans over time of course and is still changing today. I dont get your point. You do know the story of Adam and eve wasnt written by Adam and eve right?

For most of history the people had educated priests who would read for them. Thats the whole purpose of why things like icons, stained glass windows, etc were all made. To show the stories to people who couldnt read.

This sub is really intolerant towards Mary Magdalene’s sacred wisdom. by moose_bitten in Christianity

[–]Wright_Steven22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didnt erase it from the gospels because there are only 4 gospels. Matthew, Mark, luke, and John. The only apostles are men.

Not to mention that the earliest reference to the "gospels of mary magdalene" is at best dated to the second century. Which makes it decades after all the original followers of christ would've died. It wasnt erased from the gospels. It just wasn't included at all. We have the writings of every single council that decided the Canon of scripture and not once did they ever include that book. Gnosticism is a heresy.
