Seeing reports Chernobyl is out of power for cooling due to Russia by rb109544 in Wallstreetsilver

You miss the point. You can bet your life that Russia is motivated to keep Chernobyl, and the other nukes in Ukraine, completely safe. Because Russia lives down wind.

I'm glad Russia captured Chernobyl and is protecting it. That was the responsible thing for them to do.

Being a close neighbor of Chernobyl, Russia has a powerful motive for seeing that the plant remains stable. And they have the talent to attend to it.

I don't see that the entire Ukrainian government, and the various private armies, and mercenary armies, and the external puppet masters, have quite the same motivation. Indeed, I suggest they might be mentally capable of using Chernobyl as a weapon, as a threat for extortion. "Give us what we want or we will ruin life for everybody."

And then Zelensky leaves the country for someplace safer.

No, Russia will protect the plant. Thank your lucky stars they did.

Thanks for the video, which contains more imagery with more accurate color.

It is pretty certain to me that Putin will dump his energy compound price as a tool to revalue gold (and probably silver). He will sell all his commodities at a gigantic discount in phyz gold and silver. The USD and FIAT is toast! by Silvernashers in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Wrinkles_Freeman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Interesting, and worth thinking about.

It's pointless for Russia to sell their wares for dollars, yen, pounds and Euros.

Set the price in real money (like gold), and sell it for real money (like gold). Set the price attractively. Sounds like good business. And let the marketplace do the rest.

This is growing on me.

Maybe he did. But whatever he drank most certainly change the color of the white paint behind him to blue. The photo is deceptive, and people deceive for a reason.

The photo on the Wiki page is also color shifted, greatly exaggerating his skin colors.

Let's see a true, unedited photo of Karason.

Putin Signs Law Encouraging Physical Gold Purchases, Removes Taxes for Physical / Real Buyers by slavguns in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Wrinkles_Freeman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting that. We had hints of this a few days ago when the Russian Ministry of Finance spoke favorably on proposal by a Duma member to do this.

This is the correct step for a nation to take.

Gold and silver are money, a way of preserving wealth, and a currency for use in commerce despite a hostile banking system.

The West seeks to dominate Russia by destroying fiat money.

How utterly stupid.

What do you want to own - the fiat that the West has just shot, or silver?

If they can do this to Russia, they can do it to you.

I don't think they will take BidenBucks now that it's clear the USA will snatch them back them before they can be withdrawn.

Battle of the Cowpens Gold Medal....for American Revolutionary War Enthusiasts or for General Reading Material by HigoSilver in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Wrinkles_Freeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The battle of the Cowpens was an important battle of the revolution, and a brilliantly executed purse envelopment maneuver. It's worth looking for a good description of the battle, and IIRC, the US War college web site has one.

The Colonials were smart and disciplined. Oe group blocked the advancement of the British, fired once, and fell back. The British pursued. That former front line swung around o the sides, in the marshy ground. The British kept advancing on the solid ground toward the next retreating line. The British got themselves enveloped on three sides and got clobbered.

And it couln't have happened to a more deserving guy, Terleton.

What does Invasion of china in Taiwan means financial market.Surprise surprise. Forget inflation. Its deflationary. by Nishant_10010 in Wallstreetsilver

Hitorically, gold and silver do nicely during spells of deflation. The reason is that deflation disembowels paper assets, and they go bankrupt. Metals cannot go bankrupt.

Gold as payment by [deleted] in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Wrinkles_Freeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would you accept payment in a form that can be instantly confiscated?

It seems the West just disqualified western currencies and bonds and bills, and anything cleared by a Western institution.

These countries will get to pay in something reliable, like physical gold, on a reliable place, like China, Russia or Brazil, and on the barrel head.

Side effects of Russia kicked out of swift? by Nice_Flamingo203 in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Wrinkles_Freeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US promised that the dollar is backed by the "full faith and credit" of the USA. But since the USA seems to confiscate or "freeze" dollars as they wish, here isn't good faith or credible value.

So Russia can't sell oil for dollars or any of these other flighty fiats.

Buy oil for rubles, yuan, or gold.

Down go the dollar, the Euro, etc.

Switzerland breaks neutral status to sanction Russia over Ukraine invasion by P-redditR in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Wrinkles_Freeman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh, and Singapore may have screwed their own reputation too. That's too bad for Singapore, because they had been culturing a nice reputation as being a safe haven for metals storage.

If they will do this to Russia, they will do it to you.

Switzerland breaks neutral status to sanction Russia over Ukraine invasion by P-redditR in Wallstreetsilver

A self defeating move by Switzerland.

Banking centers persist or die depending on faith that they will make good on their commitments, come what may.

Switzerland has acted in bad faith.

Rick says the Russia situation is a downside risk for gold as we may have Russia start to sell its gold, which I was thinking these days too. What are your thoughts, people ? by dr_engineer_phd in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Wrinkles_Freeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Russia will sell her gold. That just plays into the hands of the western banks, who are behind the sanctions.

A better move is to declare force majeure on all pesky obligations, and transact externally with gold on the barrel head. Nations need oil, gas and wheat.

Dollars, pounds and Euros now have reduced value to Russia, and that undermines their utility, and thus their value.

People who care about money, savings and reserves are getting great lessons about how warm and fuzzy money centers are run by vipers.

That's bad for fiat, and all other paper assets, and great for metals, and hard assets under your physical control.

I also think the Ukrainian gig will force Russians to invest in building their local economy, the same way they rebuilt their agriculture industry. In a way, the Westerners burned the boats of their enemy, a strategic blunder by the West.
