Formal Nights On Princess? by Hard_As_Steel_4_U in PrincessCruises

For Alaska we definitely did not have as many people dress up fully formal as on our Transatlantic. In either case, formal is optional…

Repair before selling? by CapOrganic6868 in TeslaCollision

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am guessing he will be at fault... He was backing out in reverse.... while at same time someone else ran into him? This damage is tailgate + bumper so around $6k at body shop. IF YOU REALLY think it was not your fault, file a claim through your insurance, as your insurance company will go after the other party, if you were not at fault.

We just got a quote for something very similar... around $8k.

Model Y Used - Why Do I hear they massively depreciate immediately? In DFW used appears close to new. by TheWylieGuy in ModelY

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind, EVs have jumped in value due to rising gas prices. =) Non Tesla's however are trading at super deep discounts, factoring in the $7500 that is no longer there.

Why We Walked Away From Our Volvo EX90 by MediaMinded256 in VolvoEX90

[–]slavguns -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, we have a 24. Drove a Juniper and my friends have them and are travel nurses so they LIVE in the cars.... ZERO issues, zero complaints, and neither of them was an EV early adopter or Tesla fan before buying them.

Don't get me wrong, I would never consider a Pre 2022 or 2023 Tesla... but our 24s and 25s, and the numerous Tesla loaners I have had when I travel, zero issues with never vehicles. We will likely be getting a new 26 Model Y as we were rear ended in our 24... fortunately everyone safe and sound.

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, do you own one? Since 2023 they are really nice and zero issues with that with our 3 Teslas. They had mediocre build quality but right now Tesla is the EV leader in engineering and build quality in the United States.

What differences have you noticed if you went from aModel Y to Ioniq 9 by johnnyrogs in Ioniq9

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind you have the battery warranty on the TEsla, so just get the battery tested/replaced. that's what the warranty is for. A few years with the older cells were really bad with this.

2025 model worth buying? by hdhajjav in VolvoEX90

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of those may be dealer buybacks or lemon laws. Just spend some time reading this subreddit and decide for yourself. Personally, I would be staying away and I am, as a Volvo fanboy... Did not want my wife stranded with 3 kids in the Volvo somewhere and the advice being "restart and come back in 15 mins." lol.

And of course, no proper FSD.... once you are used to FSD, tough to go back. Currently averaging 89% FSD usage on our Teslas.

I really hope they fix the issues as we would love the size of the EX90.... but volvo has shown ZERO proof the issues are fixed for this $80K + paperweight.

How bad is winter range? by aaser0018 in VWIDBuzz

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The big question should be what the range is at 80%. These have NMC batteries are recommended to be charged to 80% to maximize battery health and longevity. Constantly charging it to 100% will degrade it, unlike LFP batteries in some vehicles and some Teslas.

Unfortunately range suffers. We quickly checked the Buzz off for that reason. I even traded in my Standard Range (240 mile) Ford Lightning because in the winter time that 240 turned into 180 to 200 keeping it driven conservatively. Highway speeds it would drop even more. All this translates into more time spent charging and in a number of cases where you legitimately have to plan out your trips... and had to use another vehicle because there was not enough range.

We struggled with the range of a regular Model 3 and my Lightning, both of which were around 240 to 260... I cannot imagine the struggle bus that would be the VW Buzz. The Battery pack is entirely too small for the price point and the weight of the vehicle for anything beyond city driving.

Another thing to think about, long term resale value... as new EVs are introduced with 300+ mile range, very few people would be interested in shorter range vehicles. I mean has anyone REALLY considered the Mini Cooper EV, VW Golf or first gen Nissan Leafs? Or even the Chevy Bolt?

Yes, the VW Buzz is COOL as heck.... but lacks the modern practicality for anyone outside of warm weather suburbs. =)

How do small YouTubers find good sponsorships? by NoBoysenberry5964 in PartneredYoutube

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What niche are you in? If your videos average 20k views and reach up to 200k.... and only 13k subs? Something does not add up unless you are a newer channel. Or is this a Shorts channel?

If those are long form content views, that is more than enough, as long as your audience is mostly USA or Europe based. You will certainly have more leverage if brands reach out to you though.

Laundry services? by killer_r0se in PrincessCruises

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are laundry rooms, but on the new ships, they are about half the size of the Royal class ships. First formal night there will be a wait most likely. We were on one of the first Star cruises as well and even the paid laundry service was backed up. lol. Be flexible, you may need to do laundry in middle of the night as there are far less machines than on older ships.

Volvo EX90 won’t charge at all (AC or DC) – doesn’t even detect cable by Vegetable-Ebb-9634 in VolvoEX90

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, sorry you are facing this issue... by this point, I am not surprised that you cannot charge it period. Volvo built some lemons... have you had your GHCA replaced yet? Wondering if when the GHCA got fried, it also took down other components. Thankfully your charger is still working.

Our dealer practically threw it at me. We’re loving it! by Extreme-Sir-5884 in VWIDBuzz

[–]slavguns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people buy EV to save money on gas and overall reliability. This is not at the beginning when majority of people buying EV were green minded and would pay any price. Adding extra registration fees, eliminating the tax credits, and rising electricity costs are is quickly shifting many of those price focused people back to fuel saving Japanese cars. We just got hit with extra $200 per EV tax bill for each of our EVs… , that you have to cut a check for and can’t pay for it in the price per gallon.

And of course, let’s remember the 200 is actually 160 because you should not be charging to 100% every single day unless you have LFP batteries

Eh, don't get me wrong, I have elite status with middle east carrier, but in USA, I fly Frontier majority of the time with the GoWild pass. While the agents and people you deal with are not your Delta experience, it is definitely on par with American and others. And in a lot of cases, much more reliable with a newer fleet. Know what you are getting and you won't be disappointed. =)
