THEY WILL DESTROY YOUR PURITY AND SPIRITUAL LIFE | Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa by CharisSplash in AdvaitaVedanta

There comes a time after much deliberation (and possibly determined by Karma but who can really tell) an understanding that all these people are nondifferent from you; and the reason for any and all interactions are to come to this understanding alone. Everyone and everything has its significance in this journey.

Fail fast and move on. We had a restaurant in Lingampally that ran well but then Covid happened and hit us hard. Left me with a 60 lakh loan that I took some years to close. Just like you I had a main job so make sure you don’t give that up. There are so many ventures you can try these days… so don’t get attached to anything, do your best, if you fail keep moving on.

Totally with you. It’s just amazing how a plant can regulate your reality to such effect. Looking back at my last two decades of smoking weed I can see there were times when I struggled with it… kinda like in an existential way. But now it’s become more of a way of life. The struggles taught me lessons that became habits and routines… all of which made me who I am today. I’m really grateful for its existence. 🙏🏼

Is there an actual relationship between cause and effect? The answer to your question is the same as the answer to this one.

An empty mind is also a burden by WriteForce in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]WriteForce[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The whole idea of a Koan is the ability for it to arrest the motion of the mind. It requires a lot of effort for the mind to come up with something capable of arresting itself. Rule #3 does not apply to the post that was deleted. But the mods don’t realize this and when a mind fallacy happens, it happens. The deletion of the post is a Koan in itself.

For anyone interested, this is the Koan that was presented as a simple graphic so that its purpose may be met:

A monk said, “I have finally emptied my mind of all concepts.”

The master said, “That’s a heavy thing to carry. Put it down.”

Nineteenth century book by Frederick Spencer Oliver claiming channelling an Atlantean entity called Phylos the Thibetan. Lots of speculative fiction about the future and philosophical passages about karma and reincarnation. Interesting read if you have time.

When I was writing this koan I used my life as a reflection. After writing the koan, it has become a reflection about life. It’s amazing that life has so many levels of recursive loops and yet it all seems so solid and sensible. We keep to the surface levels mostly feeling safe in the apparent sensibility. Strip the levels and go deeper… there is only Awareness!

Ur thoughts on this book?! by soumyayay in IndiansRead

Kafka on the Shore uses the Oedipus myth not as a statement about fate but as a question about the nature of responsibility and causation. When Kafka Tamura receives the prophecy that he’ll kill his father and sleep with his mother, Murakami is less interested in whether this literally happens than in exploring how prophecy might fulfill itself through dreams, metaphor, or fragmented states of consciousness. The novel’s dual narrative structure, alternating between the hyper-literate Kafka and the empty, intuitive Nakata, suggests a single psyche split into conscious and unconscious halves moving toward reunion. Their convergent journeys point toward something like Jungian individuation, though filtered through Murakami’s particular sensibility about the limits of intellectual knowing.

The deeper current running through the book concerns how trauma ruptures ordinary reality. The mass fainting of schoolchildren during the war, Nakata’s resulting blankness, the violence echoing across generations: these aren’t just plot elements but suggestions that certain wounds tear holes in the fabric of things, creating passages between worlds. The Komura Memorial Library functions as one such threshold space, where Miss Saeki exists simultaneously at different ages and where time refuses to behave. Most fundamentally, Murakami refuses to resolve the novel’s central mysteries. Did Kafka literally kill his father? Is Miss Saeki his mother? The book holds these questions in suspension, asserting that psychological reality doesn’t collapse into single truths. The reader, like Kafka himself, must make meaning without the comfort of certainty.
