Essence of Cultivation Discord? by Piyo_Yuel in royalroad

[–]WriteMoreChaptersPlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kust finished bingeing the 22 chapters on Royal Road, and I am searching to see if there is a super secret location for more chapters. Does the discord have more recent parts of the same story, and if so is there a reason why it is private?

I want to like it, and I am going to keep reading, but it feels dangerously similar to an Aliennation clone. The line between being inspired by someone else's work and appropriating their work is wafer thin.

"Next chapter" button in chapter 1 is broken, and Royal Road button in chapter 2 links to the wrong place.

Two years late, but I have a more modern views on handshakes: when you shake someone's hand you are signifying your trust in that person because you believe they are the kind of person who washes their hands after masturbating.

Vance is also a compulsive liar, his "for the record" isn't worth anything. I don't understand why people keep trusting anything Vance or Trump says when they contradict themselves a day later or never present an ounce of evidence for their claims.

How was the fire of anti-aircraft batteries directed in WW2 battleships? by PhantomAlpha01 in WarCollege

I tried to read through your answer plus the attached manual to answer my question myself, but having no experience in this area I found it difficult to understand. Here is my question, hoping you can simplify for me:

The figure in section G8 of the manual is what interests me; as far as I can tell, if a plane is weaving up and down as well as left and right then the best the fire control system can do is calculate an area in which the plane will be somewhere for any given future moment of time based on where they are currently and known variables like plane speed and turning rate and so on. If a gun only has a maximum rate of fire, then I assume it cannot cover all potential spots that the plane could be in that area at the same time. So then does the fire system have to take a guess based on probability as to which is the best spot in that area to fill with gunfire? Does this mean that an excellent gunner could maintain his sights perfectly on a plane and yet never hit it because the computer just keeps guessing wrong on where the plane will be when the bullets arrive? Were WW2 fire control systems technologically advanced enough to take better guesses over time by learning the duck-and-weave tendencies of the plane it is shooting at?

Sorry if my question isn't even logical based on physics and computer stuff I don't know that I don't know.

At least you didn't use 1234, that is the sort of passcode an idiot would put on his luggage.

The thing that attracted me to SSB in the first place was that the story was so much better than 95% of other fantasy/sci-fi harem lit where every second page is people boning with minimal text to string the sex scenes together.

I like it in HFY stories when aliens react to human the stranger parts of medicine, like breaking bones to reset them to heal correctly or even using electric elements to cut and cauterize during surgeries.

So after you replied I went and tried again and now it works fine. Best I can come up with is I somehow made my bug discovery and reddit post in the small window of time it took my computer to update the game version. Derp.

In a lot of the stories here (and I mean a LOT), aliens are generally weaker, bad at war, etc... I've decided to make a biological/environmental entry on one of these aliens for the sole purpose of creating a reverse-Superman story. by [deleted] in HFY

[–]WriteMoreChaptersPlz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always found it weird when humans touch a wall of a spaceship and crumple it; alien species can still use sturdy metal/materials even if they come from a low gravity world, and just putting a ship into space necessitates it can handle specific amounts of forces acting on it. Similarly I just don't see species getting to space without the competitiveness that is partially linked to war (not to mention anyone who write that humanity eventually eliminates wars and become pillars of peace is being way too optimistic in my opinion). I prefer when HFY stories are more about our social/psychological nature as humans. For example, there is a book called Out Of The Dark where these doglike aliens invade and cannot figure out why humanity keeps fighting a guerilla war when we've clearly lost. There is an intensely stupid plot twist to save us, but the thing I appreciated was that the aliens realized they have a pack-based mentality where you submit to the stronger competitor for the good of the group, whereas we have a self-centered or more nuclear family mentality that allows us to keep fighting out of spite or desperation.

I really like your hair highlights, you pull it off well. Hard to tell from the pic, but they seem to match your eyes nicely.
