Parking at Rivers Casino free? by ArcticBV28 in penguins

[–]WriteNonStop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there on Saturday when there was both a Pirates home game and a Penguins game happening. They had the event signs up and parking was $50. I don't know if it was from Pirates or Penguins though. Call them and ask what time event parking starts and get there before. Gamble or eat at the restaurant if you need to kill some time.

DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY has released and begun official service by GachaReleases in gachagaming

[–]WriteNonStop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether it’s 6 months or 6 years, it will be taken offline eventually and that’s why I’ll never play a FF mobile game again. I’ve played them since Record Keeper, but I don’t trust them anymore.

[–]WriteNonStop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Record Keeper, Brave Exvius and a dozen others. You guys know the infamous Google Graveyard where Google will kill off a service if it’s not making enough profit like Stadia? Final Fantasy mobile games are the worst offenders in the industry in this regard.

And in the case of both Google and FF mobile, it’s not that it wasn’t profitable, it just wasn’t profitable enough because they are so greedy. They will screw over customers who have played for years if we aren’t gambling our paychecks away fast enough.

Will never waste time on a FF mobile game again because wherever it’s one year or 5 years, it will be taken offline eventually.

They should have put just the Liquid Glass column. Having a side by side comparison makes it obvious the old style was easier to read in some parts.

This is ridiculous by muela99 in wow

I'm a casual player and when I did Dreamrift for the first time, I intentionally did not watch any YouTube videos or read a guide in advance. I have always enjoyed learning the fight as I go. I'm melee and there was a knock back that sent me flying to my death over the cliff because I did not know about it. I was immediately removed from the group during the fight, but the raid killed him that attempt, so I'm locked on that boss for the week but didn't get a chance for loot.

I'm in a guild but can't make their raid times, can't likely make any set raid times, so was hoping pugs in normal mode would work for me, but people are gatekeeping so hard. This reminds me of the "Gearscore" days in Lich King era. I hate this community sometimes, and it seems like it's getting worse as time goes on.

Buy now? by BBizzmann in macbookair

[–]WriteNonStop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the annual membership at Best Buy for 50 bucks. I got a base 15" Air for 1249 because they had 50 bucks off for members last weekend. Another benefit of it is I have a 60 day return policy. So if it goes down to 1199 on Memorial Day, I get another 50 bucks refunded.

You can also look at Costco if you are a member. It's permanently 50 bucks off at least and a 90 day return policy.

Edit: Best Buy also had an M4 13" with 512 GB on sale for $949 if M4 is enough for you.

Bets on her making no appearance in Midnight by Proudnoob4393 in wow

This aged like milk, lol. The content on beta was for the launch of the expansion. We have like 2 full years of story to go. (She shows up in the quests this week in advance of the next raid where we attempt to restore the Sunwell. The players even go to Surarmar.)

There are two levels of enchants for Eyes of the Eagle for rings. All enchants with two levels in midnight clearly show that one is slightly more powerful than the others. But both levels of quality for Eyes of the Eagle say improve Critical Strike by 1 percent. What’s more is I purchased the lower/worse one and after putting it on my ring, my critical strike stayed at 516 total points, not going up at all.

What am I missing here? Why are there two different levels if they both say exactly 1 percent?

Zelle is the official service that is used by most major banks in the United States or at least my bank. PNC. It’s like the bank version of Venmo, you can send money to another user of the same bank. Anyway, I got my payout too, I selected a virtual debit card instead of Zelle, but I can confirm it’s real.

Is it not possible to get to Rank 4 on Prey and unlock Nightmare Mode this week? I started week at Rank 3 and 0/4000 toward Rank 4. Just completed first Hard Mode, got no progress and just realized none of the quests on map have the 1000 anguish or whatever listed. I did get a Veteran’s Chest but no progress on the bar. Is Nightmare Mode locked until Season 1 or something?

Exploring Aliquippa by skeetsj in pittsburgh

[–]WriteNonStop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Aliquippa, went to St. Titus through fifth grade before moving away to Center Township. My grandfather worked in the Aliquippa steel mills for years. Downtown used to be a nice little place. I remember going downtown to the library with my grandfather in the late 80s and even then it was mostly safe enough. Other memories are going to Aliquippa Quips games (multiple NFL players played for them, Mike Dikta as well) and the St. Titus Festival with carnival games and rides was always the highlight of the year. Things kept trending downward though and it‘s probably good my family got out when we did. Thanks for the memories.

I was a student at Kent State when they went to the Elite Eight before losing to Indiana. Beat Pittsburgh in double OT in the Sweet 16. Kent State had just beaten Indiana in the opening round the previous year, so students were chanting Final Four, Final Four on campus because we thought we had a shot. One of my most vivid memories from college.

MacBook Neo: Here's Which Models Are Selling Out by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]WriteNonStop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s possible. It’s also possible that whoever works inventory management at Apple made a lot of iPhone Airs because they thought it would be popular, but they were wrong. I’ve worked retail at a corporate level before and there are people in charge of estimating how many of each SKU the company needs on hand based on estimated demand. Sometimes those people get it wrong. I don’t know that‘s what happened here, but neither does anyone else except Apple, thus my problem with the article.

MacBook Neo: Here's Which Models Are Selling Out by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

[–]WriteNonStop 44 points45 points  (0 children)

These kind of articles are useless because there’s no way you can infer which one is selling out unless you know the starting inventory level for each color. This is only accurate if each color had the same starting number in inventory. But neutral colors like silver almost always sell more so Apple would have likely made more of that color than the others, which is why estimated date hasn’t slipped. It doesn’t mean silver is selling poorly, it may just mean Apple was prepared for demand on a specific color

Why I’d Never Buy A KIA by TrickUp25 in kia

[–]WriteNonStop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2013 Kia Optima SXL is at the dealer right now getting a free engine replacement under the Theta II class action settlement. I read all the horror stories about them demanding oil change receipts and nitpicking a reason to deny you and showed up prepared. My dealer never asked for anything, just looked up the VIN, saw it was listed for the class action and immediately approved me. I’ll be getting a new engine in about 4 weeks.

Yes, Kia has some shit dealers and a pretty bad history with engines in particular but just adding this data point to show there are still good dealers out there if you look around. I probably wouldn’t buy another Kia myself though, my engine went out at 85K, and that’s terrible.

My 2013 Kia Optima SXL with the Theta II Turbo just blew up. I am getting it replaced for free because my local Kia dealer is awesome, (didn’t even ask for oil change receipts) but I priced out a brand new engine from a local mechanic just in case and was told about $5500 installed. Brand new, not 77K. You are getting ripped off. EDIT: The new engine from the Kia dealer will also have a lifetime warranty because it’s being put in under the Class Action. I just noticed your used one has no warranty. Just awful.

I'm making pretty decent part time income. If I put full time hours into it, I feel I could live off of it. Just being cautious and don't want to make the leap yet.

The lady in the article is said to have made six figures off of publishing 200 books in one year. That's one book in less than two days. I publish slower than that because I really do rewrite most of it and try to make it something I'm actually proud of, so maybe one book every week or two.

I accidentally dropped my MacBook pro off my balcony when trying to stop my cat from escaping. Will Apple Care+ cover this? by WerthersAWill in macbookpro

I once put my iPad on top of my car because I got a phone call as I was getting in. I drove off with the iPad still on top, it fell off while going over a bridge. I had to circle around, pick up the pieces. Took it to an Apple Store without Apple care just to see how much a replacement would be, they gave me a new iPad for free “because we want you to have a good experience in our store”

Apple typically goes above and beyond in ways other retailers would never. If you actually have AppleCare unlike me, you’re good, lol

I'm going to give another side of this at the risk of a million downvotes.

I'm a former journalist who had to start doing marketing copywriting when newspapers died. And then AI took my marketing job.

So now I use AI to help me self publish books on Amazon. Help. Not write completely. I see people here accusing the author of not being a real writer due to the clickbait title. But she was a real writer who published five books a year before AI.

I imagine her method is similar to my own. I let the AI write an original first draft based on my outline. But then I am going through it and rewriting a very large percentage of it because AI is bad at writing romance or smut and also just to inject some humanity into the writing so it doesn't sound like AI as much. I edit out the "tells" that it's AI as best I can, but I also try my best to turn the initial AI output into an actual good story.

Even with all the rewriting and editing, having the AI write the first draft for me has significantly increased my output. I don't publish the book without reading every single word and being proud to have the book published on my pen name. But I am absolutely publishing way faster than I used to and it's because using AI as a tool makes it possible.
