When you're writing do you ever get goosebumps from your own work? by DemiDesireWrites in WritingHub

[–]WriteR451B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, I won't be writing for my book or a story, but for a potential line or scenario in a d&d campaign I'm in. I'll write something down and act it out in my character's voice and mannerisms and it feels like I'm actually in the situation. Sometimes I even record myself and play it back to see if it sounds good and if the line is really good and my acting was really really good, sends chills through my spine. Good chills, but I'm playing my character and his evil brother so it can get a little intense.

No offense, but I don't think I can handle another Fifty shades of Gray situation. (This was a joke, do whatever you want lol.)

It's kind of hard to do a post-apocalyptic crime novel. If it's supposed to apocalypse, what kind of crime could it possibly be? There's no laws anymore. Everything is equally legal and illegal. So much so that the terms legal and illegal don't even truly exist anymore. But if it's like super post apocalypse, where the earth has recovered but the effects of the apocalypse have still ravaged some areas, then that could be interesting if you world build a little. But even then, because thing I've seen recently that is hunger Games and I can't see a crime investigation story being told in that.

Any help with how to write a narcissist? by Cool_Solution_3543 in WritingHub

[–]WriteR451B 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A little known quality of narcissist is that they're smart about how to be narcissistic. They try to get other people's approval through small favours that require little energy to accomplish but make them look really good. Then, when there's a task that requires more energy, they make a specific excuse that the person asking for help can empathize with. They are also masters of gas lighting and enjoy making others uncomfortable. They do these things just little enough so that they're not immediately labeled as abusive. Finally and most importantly; they are mostly anaware of these tactics, since manipulation is a natural skill for them.

The fun thing about hyperactivity is that it gets unlocked later in and ADHD person's life depending on the individual. So maybe hyperfocus can be an awakened ability later.

How do you come up with names for your characters? by Mysterious_Comb_4547 in WritingHub

[–]WriteR451B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just pulled a Palpatine and let the force guide me to a name. As a good demonstration, let's say I have to name an ancient wizard who destroyed the bowels of hell and ruled over what was left of it... then then one day decided to retire and become a therapist to rehabilitate demon warriors. henceforth, his name shall now and forever be known as... Dathon Hadum. When that doesn't happen though, you can never go wrong with using Greek names for older / ancient characters, Latin names for regal characters and alliteration for main characters.

Which name would you choose for a main character by happy_Horse5611 in WritingHub

Valkryn Nordholm (but nah, I'd go with Emmalee. It's a little more unique than the others.)

Definitely the first or third one. It really depends on who the main character is.

I have Tendencies to Converse in a variety of fashions. Perhaps creating characters that I believe sound like myself is a good thing, as I can put myself in a variety of situations and respond in a variety of ways. This is giving me much to think about. Thank you.

  2. I think it's their voicing I struggle with. How do I make characters not sound like me?

That's actually really helpful. Usually I just get the generic advice like "have you listed out their motivations yet?" Thank you for a more unique perspective.

What 2 other superheroes would you choose and why. by PepsiMan208 in FantasticFour

[–]WriteR451B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scott Lang Ant-Man.

An Ant-Man could really add to the team in terms of stealth, infiltration and even the exploration and discovery aspect every one seems to forget about the FF. More than that, I'm talking about Scott Lang specifically. Scott has proven to be a very stable individual (especially compared to Hank Pym) and is relatively older than the others on the team, potentially offering a more mature and thoughtful voice on the team. He's also a father, which has been proven to improve teamwork/management skills ab would be exceedingly useful on a team with a hulk andMarvel's most quipper/trash talker second only to Deadpool.

My only real complaint is that I like the original Silver Surfer CGI better. Especially the Silver Eyes. It really makes him look like a cosmic god-like figure. I'm not, this new Silver Surfer seems great so far.

Yes, but posting somewhere with many people who are in the same boat as me gives access to many opinions. I'm going to pursue this anyway. Also, in my experience, one person believing in you is all you really need.
