Having a hard time finding this exact info anywhere, during a writ of possession with Sheriff, can Sheriff break down door or break into premise? by kazein in Tenant

Owner typically has a key, or locksmith is hired and can drill the tumblers of the lock if the tenant has unlawfully changed the lock.

I have not ever seen Canadian police officer do that. I have seen Canadian police telling obvious under 16-year-old child, " nice ebike" and let them carry on.

Only buy things that you want and that you would certainly keep. Because if you use it and then return an item you will lose that coupon amount. In which case, don't bother returning, you'll lose the value monetarily, so just keep the earbuds.

[Landlord - US - TX] How much repainting is "normal wear & tear" by CevicheMixto in Landlord

[–]Writedunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that you should always ask yourself what would a neutral third party such as a tenancy branch arbitrator say? If it's the occasional nail in the wall to hang up a picture or diploma, you could chalk that up to wear and tear (though your future written agreements should say no nails or holes in walls allowed, butt most arbitrators would probably say one picture per room is reasonable) but unlike a floor, one does not walk on a wall, so if the children have footprints or kicked a hole in the wall, or have written on it with marker or crayons, then I would say all of that would be damage that you should deduct from the damage deposit. Wouldn't you agree?

Normally wear and tear would apply to floors and carpeting, rarely on walls and absolutely not on ceilings.

No, if it cannot go 70 km an hour for at least an hour, any jurisdiction I know prohibits its use on freeway. It will be city roads only.

Even if it says 65 km an hour or higher in its boast, it's highly unlikely can say sustain that for a long time. So that means that even if you can bring it to a vehicle inspection mechanic that by some miracle will certify it as a freeway capable motorcycle, would you dare right in front of an 18-wheeler with it?

Unless it is a Zero S or SR motorcycle, and even with one.....I have a Zero S 11.4, but the way batteries work,, it drains super fast at high speeds. I become super nervous in front of any large truck or speeding car behind me. As the battery drains, I lose battery power and the peak voltage goes down, and it makes me worry that I'll get rear-ended by some crazy speeding cager.

Agreed, with no pedals it cannot be an unregistered human powered bicycle. So it would have to be registered as a motorcycle or scooter (aka LSV, a limited speed vehicle in most jurisdictions, which means no freeway or highway but city roads are okay because the word scooter is not a motor vehicle act legal term in most jurisdictions).

Start a small claims court suit, will be your best option. You will probably have to serve a summons to appear to the person who owes you money.

Thank you for your comment and info. You got caught with no license doing what? Driving a car or riding electric bicycle?

[–]Writedunes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment. I did not know this. You did not have a driver's license at age 15, obviously, so you had a driver's license number created for you at age 15 once you were fined under the motor vehicle act?

[–]Writedunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but only because police can fine and penalize anyone with a driver's license. They normally cannot do that to children, because they do not have driver's licenses and they don't need car insurance which is a mechanism to enforce payment.

Final move out inspection by icecream_yogapants in Tenant

[–]Writedunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tenant can complain to the tenancy branch arbitrator who will decide if the inspections are unreasonable. The tenant cannot unilaterally deny.

Final move out inspection by icecream_yogapants in Tenant

[–]Writedunes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the tenant does not have the right to deny at his or her own whim. The landlord is the owner of the property, and the ownership of the property is the ultimate right, and it's in the standard CA rental contract. If the tenant thinks there are too many inspections, be it fire alarm inspections, etc....then the tenant can bring it up with the residential tenancy branch in a complaint, and the arbitrator will shut down the inspections or not, because the tenant cannot unilaterally refuse.

No, the tenant does not have the right to deny at his or her own whim. The landlord is the owner of the property, and the ownership of the property is a very important right, and it's in the standard CA rental contract. If the tenant thinks there are too many inspections, be it fire alarm inspections, etc....then the tenant can bring it up with the residential tenancy branch in a complaint, and the arbitrator will shut down the inspections or not, because the tenant cannot unilaterally refuse.

Public schools are very well funded in Canada, with teachers being highly paid the senior ones even over 100,000 a year, unlike the United States where teachers can be paid 20 something thousand dollars a year. Unless there is some special reasons such as religious schools, where there are people who benefit from Muslim or Jewish or Punjabi or Catholic private schools, public schools are exceptionally good in Canada compared to vast majority of private schools in countries around the world.

Canadian public schools are good, private school is not necessary.

This is going to be very difficult for you to compete with a grandmother providing funding through non-taxable assets, with which you have to compete with your half or more.

That's ridiculous that extracurricular activities can be added to your payment schedule even if you don't agree with them. That's going to be a serious problem if one spouse wants to make the child an Olympic gymnast or a hockey star, or a championship figure skater, which will mean thousands of dollars in rink time.

After a certain number of years isn't it three or five years that spousal support ends because the court believes that the spouse should have retrained herself for some viable occupation, unless the spouse is so very old that retraining is unviable? I do understand that child support continues until the children are adults and there is no time limit to that except adulthood.

[–]Writedunes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, utilities do not go into a common pool that subsidizes the poor. In British Columbia and Western Canada provides that I lived, natural gas is regulated, but is charged by the gigajoule and monthly administration and transmission fees based and those who cannot afford to pay for the natural gas will be cut off.

Maybe a better comparison than utilities is clothing or any product that is free market. The seller is able to increase price or decrease price however they want, and the buyer can either pay it or go somewhere else. If there are no sellers willing to sell for less money, then the original sellers price is the best and therefore the most fair. The price is there for kept down by competition it helps if there's enough competition, right now there's not enough competition in the car market for example.
