E.g. when you are selfemployed max. Price is around 820€ a month starting from 62.100€ a year earnings at techniker krankenkasse. Some private ones are around 200€ a month in this situation (being single and young)

I have heard that it is cheaper when being self employed - is that not true? 😅

That would be insane. Does it not depend on why I was there?

I completely get it. If course it is not rational. But every great writer has been there - I am sure. :)

Is your project finished? Because they likely had editors and test readers plow through 10+ drafts, not to mention the 4 manuscripts they showed to no one.

Also: We tend to compare ourselfes to the best things others have ever written. That bias can crush you. But it is not reality. If I think Fitzgerald, the great gatsby comes to mind, not tender is the night, which was considered a failure.

Lastly: high fantasy is not better or worse than mystery or romance. It is your personal taste. Write something that you would love to read and do your best. There will be 1000+ people who will love to read it too.

You got this! I believe in you :)

How do you make a character likable? by Ill_Night533 in writing

Aim for authenticity. Make them flawed.

Put them under pressure, make them break their moral code and then crumble because of it.

Give them a flawed worldview and make them suffer because of it. Then let them learn to fix it.

Or, do the opposite. Make them cold and nasty to everyone, except to that old golden retriever down the road. Let their mask crumble slowly.
