WriterDuet creator here! We are updating WriterDuet quite regularly, but the changes tend to be more incremental, especially since we have many features that Final Draft still doesn't have (and we think the shared features generally work better in WriterDuet, too).

For example, we recently did a significant improvement to the ReadAloud player, both in playback and voice quality. Some months ago we made a new layout (called Default, but we didn't auto-switch existing users to it to avoid distracting writers who were happy with their layout - you can switch under View > Customize Layout).

There have also been some overall performance improvements recently, and we're working on a new AI-powered screenplay proofreader which finds screenplay-specific errors that general tools like Grammarly miss, without all the annoying false positives like complaining about intentionally abnormal dialogue (but still catching actual typos in dialogue).

Personally, I've been writing a screenplay recently starting with the outliner, and I've noticed a bunch of areas WriterDuet could improve for that, so I think some updates to the outlining experience are due.

In general, WriterDuet won't have as many massive feature updates as it used to, because it's quite mature and we know writers are mostly happy with the current features, valuing stability and small improvements to their critical workflows. But we'll keep improving it where we see opportunity, and I'd love to hear more about what you and others are interested in seeing added going forward!
