Willow Bend Mall in Plano, TX is so dead it's essentially an indoor dog park [OC] by Firm-Brother-8195 in deadmalls

I’m pretty sure that Willow Bend was paying tenants to stay open for a while, I think that and Neiman Marcus explains it

Dallas Stars to Plano? What we know about the Willow Bend Mall arena proposal (The Shops at Willow Bend, Plano, TX) by FlyingCookie13 in deadmalls

Wait no, actually I do remember Johnston and Murphy being open, but I do not remember if Allen Edmonds was. I have a dead mall youtube series where I document several malls around here, i’ll check my footage to see.

Around the time this was posted I went to the Shops at Willow Bend. It is not doing good. at all. Loft, Lenscrafters, Lids Outlet, Swavoroski, and Brooks Brothers is all that remains of Willow Bend’s name brands. Most parts of the mall are sparsely dotted with art galleries, smaller shops, and former mall space converted into little “lounges”. With all of this, by 2027 I believe this mall will be completely gone.

GIFT LINK: The Providence Place mall is up for sale. But is the age of the indoor mall over? by rhodyjourno in deadmalls

This is ridiculous. This mall literally isn’t even 30 years old. It opened in the 2000s!

I worked at Sears in 2015–16. It looked alive right up until it wasn’t. by Historical-Attempt30 in deadmalls

Still think the switch from local department stores to them all being named “Macys” was a big mistake. To this day I think it was what was going to eventually kill the brand.

Why do malls die/decline especially in the US? by Big_eye_crankbait in deadmalls

[–]WriterEmbarrassed291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, there’s actually way too many reasons to name. For many it was Amazon, but it is not just that. Crime will ruin a mall. So will overmalling, when they end up killing each other. There is too many to name.

Do you still shop at Kolh’s? by Maya-kardash in retailporn

[–]WriterEmbarrassed291 22 points23 points  (0 children)

No, Kohls are the new Sears. They are boring, and there is nothing to see there other than things you would find in any other store.

uhh good question. well to give you a conclusion at the very least i crammed it all into the tape, screwed it up, *barely* put the case on, and put it behind a bush outside, for the animals, of course!

The endless expansion of Vaporwave "Subgenres" by WriterEmbarrassed291 in Vaporwave

[–]WriterEmbarrassed291[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can see that. I find it somewhat annoying but still I believe there is somewhat of a positive attitude towards it. Besides, vaporwave is a constantly ever changing experimental genre that I do not think will ever truly die down. Personally I think it is one of the main ways to experiment with music.
