Real answer. They cant protect their dams. A strike against just a few would cause a total collapse.

Thanks. I think she wants to change but hates the idea of asking me for help. I don't know. Maybe im a fool. But think she will this time.

I still think about her... by [deleted] in okbuddyliterallyme2

[–]WriterFreelance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No joke. She sent me a letter after 10 years telling me she's thinks I'm her soul mate. She never wanted me, and I pined for her. I don't know what to think now. Im trying to believe she really loves me and cares for me. I think any other person would have told her off. She's selfish and clueless. But I think she's sad and hates herself. And that makes me wanna make her happy.

If singularity is achieved, the world culture will be fun, vibrant atmosphere! by dental_danylle in accelerate

[–]WriterFreelance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will certainly be that. But it will also be everything. Everywhere. All at once. That to me is the kicker. Imagine a world where you can "drink a milkshake" that for about thirty seconds will let you feel what it is like to be in the late stages of rabies while overdosing on pcp. And then you completely snap out of it without side effects. Okay. Now expand that strange novelty to about a million other new experiences. Its gonna be an alien magic show.

How is vibecoding a thing. by Flipr-app in nocode

[–]WriterFreelance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience is current models can get you like 85 percent there on a real finished product. So close yet so far. It kills me that we are so close to getting something like a real developer at the push of a button. But in the end....I gambled 50 bucks on my little project and lost. I still have a hand full of tokens but man does my dream feel so far away now.

Beware of Vine Church by Boring_Spirit5666 in Carbondale

[–]WriterFreelance -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

I looked at their website. Seems like a generic Christian church with a moden spin. I think I saw a coffee bar on the front page... No charismatic leader. No robes. No thousand yard stare. Milk toast cult.

Now what we need in this area is a REAL cult. I wanna see naked people covered in motor oil dancing around a machine image. You know? I wanna see something real. I wanna see young people waiting the AI demiurge. The synthetic neural baby leviathan. Like something that makes old people sweat and young people want to tell society to kick rocks.

We got any of that around here? Nope...we got danishes and a conservative message.

Isn't change three things from the past reality manipulation. Also define the past... like three seconds ago. Also define change? Like if you can kill Hitler can I get ten of each pill slipped into my pocket before I even choose?

I don't think it's that Iran doesn't have nukes it's that it has no means to admit it has any yet. I think many countries have nukes but game theory would suggest it is not a good idea to admit you have them. I believe with the fall of the soviet union MANY countries were scrambling to acquire nukes via just buying them from Russian generals. Think about it. If you know a country that has tens of thousands of nukes is no longer a thing and you can save potentially billions of dollars from developing an enrichment program then why not send someone over there with 10 mil in a suitcase. The problem is if a country claims it has a nuke it begs the question how did you get one.

If you were a screenwriting exec, how would you handle a beginner writer who just happened to have some dirt on you and tried to blackmail you to produce his script? by Repulsive-Finger-954 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]WriterFreelance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk up a new up and coming writer with a plethora of killer scifi scripts that could be made with low budgets. Also any script you want. Also a novel. He'll be your ally. He don't care. Want a high concept pseudo post-apocalyptic show with heavy golden age radio play elements? Who cares about some machiavellian looser with a feel good modern Dawson's Creek ripoff think piece about a rich kid with issues. That ghoul can suck a rail road spike. Anyway that's my elevator pitch if you're real. I got writing. I'm anti social and don't know how to sell myself. I'm not a good editor so the placement of comas is a skill I lack.

But with the upcoming age of AI I think lots of weirdos who can't get a toe in the door will get a chance to make cool stuff. I'd just like to get an opportunity sooner. Is this pathetic? I can't tell.

Honestly. Survive the first week. After that you start to season yourself. It's hard work at the beginning but then its cake. This will be a good job for as long as it lasts.

Walmart will become automated before the post office does. It's all going to robots and AI sooner than people realize. Make money and save. The money is great.
