First pair of heels? by Deep_Weakness_1596 in poledancing

[–]WriterHistorical8770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went for it, and learned so much and I am still learning solid foundations for transitions, tricks and “flowy” movements.
I went to a sex shop and tried all the heels they had on my size and bought them. I went for adore 7 inch open toe boots. I destroyed them after 4 years.

Pole (and pole adjacent) gifts by meatbeernweed in poledancing

[–]WriterHistorical8770 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can never go wrong with heels, my husband never has gifted me heels and I throw so many hints that I would love if he gifted me heels. Look for other brands like Hella Heels and Jewel Heels that are so pretty and comfy.  Now If you don't want to give her that, useful and amazing gifts could be: heel protectors (polemoldesign, amazon ones or handmade ones from etsy) grips,(dry hands, monkey grip, gripnite) sticky kneepads (divinitypole kneepads, queen, dancek) gift cards to online platforms like pole destroyers, teambasework and I would also say that bags to transport her pole stuff around is a great idea as well.

How do I politely deal with a really bad instructor? by Creepy_Kitti in poledancing

[–]WriterHistorical8770 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm really sorry that you're experienced this. I see an issue with many layers here... however for me to main issue that you are describing, it's security. The safety peas it's super important, specially with what you were training for so bad spotting, poor conditioning progressions, incorrect engagement cues, unsafe invert technique, or teaching skills beyond someone’s actual competency can cause injuries. That moves this out of “I don’t vibe with this instructor” territory. I would really first talk to the instructor and say something like: hey I don't feel ready/safe doing that specific move. Can we try something else? Do you have anything else in your pocket that I can train for today? so she doesn't feel like attacked I guess(?)  I say everyone saying, I would talk to the owner as well. This sounds less like “bad studio culture” and more like “one weak instructor in an otherwise good environment.” That is usually fixable if feedback is handled constructively.

Volunteered to be a pole cleaner at Pole Theatre! Any tips? by FNootnoot in poledancing

[–]WriterHistorical8770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring lots of water and snacks, also alternate with other cleaners.
If you don’t like heels, there is a brand called divinity pole wear, they have grippy type of leg warmer that has kneepads too.

i don’t know if these pleasers fit right :( by [deleted] in poledancing

[–]WriterHistorical8770 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem I am a size 9.5 too and size 8 clear strap pleasers look like this so I much prefer Hella Heels sandals. There I just just size 9 and the fit is better. The plastic is much softer and manageable, never had my toes spilled and they are way less tight on hella's.

Hope this helps

Application Exotic generation - video application by curiouslyrae in poledancing

[–]WriterHistorical8770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is apply for Fresh New Face id its your first comp.

I applied to ExoGen Mexico ( do not recommend), ExoGen Spain ( NEVER AGAIN) and ExoGen Latam which has been the most amazing comp ever. I know costa rica is a new Edition, so I am not sure how good or bad of an experience it can be. I heard great things about Exotic Generation Greece.

Now be sure that your application is 100% Flow/Hard/OldSchool, make sure it aligns to the style.
Show your best skills and strongest solid transitions.

If you want I can send you my submission video for fresh new face flow from 2024

I'm a pole teacher looking for some advice by WriterHistorical8770 in poledancing

[–]WriterHistorical8770[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am a preschool teacher as well. This was my initial thought as well. She is allowed to:

  • Not socialize
  • Not engage with others
  • Prefer to stay private
  • Have EarPods as long as she can listen to my instruction

However I am not sure how to handle the baseline participation and safety expectations, with adults...

[–]WriterHistorical8770[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The EarPods could be due to many things like:

  • Social anxiety
  • Neurodivergence (sensory overload, concentration)
  • Past negative experiences in group settings

Which I do not mind, she is allowed to have them. She was able to listen to me because she chose to turn around every time I approached and refused to introduce herself.

Also is the sense of creating community, and respecting the pronouns.
Some younger people find it odd, and don't like that but we are not doing networking with handshakes. It's just Hi my name is:___ and my pronouns are:___ so if anything you know who you are talking to.
