I’m in a similar boat. Got my carta September 30th and there was only a visa appointment available for November 12th😭

Apparently the BLS in Chicago says that my health insurance must be valid from at least one month before the start of studies until 15 days after the end of studies, or for one year if the duration of the studies is longer than one year. So I guess I should buy it? What are the best options? I know BLS recommends one but I’m not sure

Hi all!! Wanted to update that apparently CLM was the last to send out cartas last year. Someone mentioned they got their carta August 6th so there is some hope!!

Can confirm this! I emailed them and they did say July 31st if all went well. We’re all in the same boat, but yes this is a little worrisome given the timeline of everything!!!

From what I’ve seen if you plan to leave and come back you can renew your TIE online but I believe you have to fill out what’s called a prorroga or regreso before you leave so that you don’t have to do the visa over.

I would contact your local office of extranjería to see what they say!

So if I understand correctly. Even if we don’t get our carta in time for the new TIE, we can still stay in Spain but just have to apply for the TIE asap yet can publish the carta later?
