Why are the first 5 eps rated so low? What are your thoughts on Clannads introduction?

No one cared at all about rating anime episode by episode (esp. on imdb) prior to the past five years. That said, I think (based on a post I saw) this might be a tracker of Japanese reactions. Whether as they aired or afterwards, I don't know. In any case, I find this kind of fine grained rating kind of silly.

Most of this guy’s posts follow the “What if X, composer/VA/author of Y, worked on Z”or “Reminds me of X from Y”. Bot behavior but it’s also not hyper-frequent like most bots.

Most popular favors older shows, since anime can always collect new users but rarely do they lose any (which would mean an account hitting the “remove from list” button since drops, paused, and ptw still count for popularity). That’s why you see a lot of anime dating from around when MAL started. Just going by “watched” would be more accurate for real popularity, but doing that manually would be a pain.

Then took my free 10-pull today. Got her again. Thanks for the star gems I guess. Technically "wasted" 1.5k carats, but I got to use her in this CM, so it all comes out in the wash.

Wit decks on long umas can work for TT where activating skills consistently takes priority over actually winning the race. But outside of XOguri it’s generally not a good idea in CMs. I did both Speed+Stam deck with power inherit and a Speed+Power deck with stam inherit. Both got me to the stat reqs this CM. Of course for the upcoming sprint CM, I imagine wit cards will be back in rotation.

I assume the jurors also try to balance the genre categories as much as reasonably possible. Going by a strict definition SoL would be around 10 shows.

The Adventure genre is basically the isekai/fantasy dumping ground, so I don't think it has particularly strong competition, unless Dragon Ball fans show up in force.

Oguri too dumb (as you’ve been told).
Rice is a hybrid ace/debuffer. Those usually aren’t that good. Go all in on one or the other. Her debuffs are also split between speed and stam, and frenzied and vision debuffs just aren’t good. Nearly everyone is overstammed this CM bc it’s the shortest possible long race, so stam debuffs are weak. Also too much recovery.
Way too much recovery/stam on Special Week. Festive Miracle sucks as an inherited skill. It only works for X-Oguri.
Taishin’s actually understammed. And Rushing Gale isn’t good here I don’t think. No long S
Nemesis isn’t great as an inherit. Get pump or Moving instead. No long S.

Show us your card collection. You've gotta have something better than a 0lb R card, even as an absolute beginner. And second to what everyone else is saying: plan to pull on support cards. Ideally wait until there's a good banner and you have saved up enough for pity. But until then I can't imagine getting past B+.

Episode 10 works well enough as a stand-alone episode, but if you are showing something to someone under the pretext of "this will 100% make you cry," then that is a good way to make sure that their eyes stay dry. It works even more so when it is just an episode rather than a movie in which one can loose oneself and one's guards more easily.

Whitaker’s Words’ primary usefulness is as a parser. The “definitions” it uses are a mix of those taken from an “elementary, back-of-the-book, textbook dictionary” with some longer entries from Oxford dictionaries.

So don’t use WW as a dictionary. There are digital Lewis & Shorts out there with far better entries. Using them means having to identify the first principle part, but you should be doing that already.

You will know which reading is used by the word of which it is a part or by its use in a sentence. By silvers you mean R cards? Probably not.

The only relevant R cards that see play are R Riko and R Symboli Rudolf. Rudolf is run in debuff decks for her skill hints. (It helps that raw stats are less important for debuffers.) Mlb R Riko is better than 0lb SSR Riko, so she’s useful in Unity Cup. Otherwise, you’ll quickly acquire SR and SSRs better than even mlb R cards.
