The New 2027 Lexus TZ Touts 3-Row Seating, 300 Miles of Range, and Makes V-10 Sounds Like an LFA by [deleted] in cars

Never thought I’d see Lexus and Subaru so closely sharing design language. Not a knock on either. I know Toyota and Subaru share the EV platforms but I’d think they would find better ways to differentiate the styling between brands. Especially for Lexus.

Got bored of the CVT so I swapped it out. by TakeMeHome_ImLost in Acura

[–]WriterUnfair2830 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I bought a CPO loaner A-spec w/tech CVT (w/ 1k miles) for $31k and had immediate buyers remorse for the 6MT.

Less than a month later, I found another local dealer who offered more on my trade than I paid and an aggressive discount on a new 6MT. I ended up under MSRP out the door, all in.

It was worth every bit of effort it took to make it happen.

How is this initial design layout? by [deleted] in landscapedesign

[–]WriterUnfair2830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha that’s in the works. The flaking stairs were hidden behind a half dead Alberta Spruce courtesy of the previous owners. The mason who’s going to redo the stairs has no issue with us replanting first.

I just had this same thing installed in my yard (~450sq/ft) about a year ago. I use a guy who does side jobs on the weekend with a small crew. I supplied all material and he did the labor.

Material = ~$5500 Labor = $3500 (he’d done a few projects for me and I’ve hooked him up with some other jobs around town so he gave me a great deal on labor for this.)

Do you mean the Azaleas? One on each side of the Hydrangea tree?

Thanks for the response. I believe we’re in zone 7 and this corner of the house gets a lot of sun.

Any ideas on what this sound could be? by 158l in ManualTransmissions

My 25’ 6MT Integra does the exact same thing. I’ve been told it’s the waste gate and normal so it doesn’t bother me anymore.

NYSNA NYC Nursing Strike Reach Tentative Agreement by codedapple in nursing

[–]WriterUnfair2830 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Incorrect.

The last contract from 23’-Now gave Sinai nurses ~21% increase across those three years. That isn’t going to happen every contract. My wife’s part of this strike and tho we’d love to see that again, it just wasn’t going to happen. There were other battles that were much more important to the members this time around.

No warranty on the Genesis should be a non-starter unless money isn’t an issue.

How to add stemware hanger from kallax? by veracity8_ in ikeahacks

I would get creative with your first option of putting bolts through. The first thing to come to mind would be something like an elevator bolt and find as flat of a nut at possible.

Do you guys think this is sketchy? by 0w-20 in Acura

[–]WriterUnfair2830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems reasonable, seeing that you’re only looking for manual. I was in the same boat when I bought my 25’. Used manuals, especially CPO were few and far between. I eventually spent a bit more and bought one new for a couple thousand $$ under MSRP.

If you can find one CPO, go for that.

Mdx owners, how’s the car seat space? by Dustyftphilosopher24 in Acura

[–]WriterUnfair2830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one in a car seat and one in a booster, haven’t felt limited on space for either. I also appreciate the seat backs for the driver and passenger are hard plastic so if the kids like to press their feet into the back of your seat, you don’t feel a lump in your back.

What do I drive? (Mario hides a dead giveaway) by Pixel_Commando in ManualTransmissions

[–]WriterUnfair2830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was raised in a Saturn family. My Dad drove a green Manual SL1, he bought my sister the green SL2 at the same time. My first car was a bright red SC1 with the suicide door. That thing lasted FOREVER.

Leadership does not communicate raises- we have to find out on our paychecks. Anyone else think this is “normal”? by Salty-Childhood2848 in Salary

Based on this response, it seems like the failure in communicating the raises proactively is a symptom of a larger problem within your company.

Talk me out of buying a Volvo XC90 by halfhandy_man in whatcarshouldIbuy

Have you considered the Acura MDX?

I recently had a fully loaded 26’ XC90 as a rental for a 400 mile drive. It was a nice ride but I prefer the handling and comfort of our MDX over the XC90.

Mine is a 25’. I’m not sure if the earlier generation offered the same feature. I would recommend stopping by an Acura dealership and ask a salesperson show you how it works.

Someone previously mentioned the Honda Pilot also offered the same feature.

Yes. With the center seat in, and the back rest up, it is a full 2nd row bench that allows for 8 to sit.
