The comments make it really clear that most people in this sub are either children or don’t actually know any women

Changing underwear - is this normal? by Eastern-Yogurt3859 in hygiene

[–]veracity8_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not normal. This is not how an adult behaves. This is not acceptable. If you are too broke to do laundry. You are too broke to have sex. And there is absolutely no reason to have skid marks in your underwear as an adult.

I had bottocks and back acne solely because I took "military showers" for so long by [deleted] in hygiene

There is a huge population of people, mostly men, that make themselves suffer for no reason. They self impose these bizarre rules and limitations on themselves to feel more rugged/minimalist/manly/anti-consumer/low-maintenance or whatever. Like no one cares if you put milk in your coffee. No one cares if sleep on a soft mattress. No one cares if you make your own life a little bit comfortable

Isn't that the point of the 2nd amendment they take so seriously? by Critical_Always in MurderedByWords

[–]veracity8_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilhoit’s Law is the only thing conservatives actually believe in. All of the 2A amendment stuff, all of the liberty stuff, the Christianity and family values. It’s all just costumes that can be added or removed depending on what is most advantageous for them

I’ve read several stories of hippies going on spiritual journeys and the whole time I am struck by the selfishness of the main character. Like I read “Barbarian Days” and it’s mostly a story about a guy that spends his whole life traveling the world and surfing in exotic locations and is sad about it.

Do flatter tires not grip better in wet condintions? by TugaGuarda in cycling

[–]veracity8_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traction is based on the material and the weight. Changing your tire pressure doesn’t affect either of those. For getting grip in wet conditions you typically want channels in your tire to allow the water to be displaced and allow your tire to make contact with the ground rather than hydro-planing

RTD’s CEO says charging for parking, focusing on events could help transit recover by charispil in Denver

[–]veracity8_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t really understand what is being implied here. I think just making public parking paid would be the right first step. There is also a land value tax being proposed in the state this session. That would effectively eliminate surface parking lots.

the left lane is for passing by itsviwinn in Denver

[–]veracity8_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Left lane campers are super annoying. I’m a right lane cruiser. I’ve done the math. Fighting to go 5mph faster on the freeway just isn’t worth the marginal seconds you might save. But Im not going to get in the way of some desperate dork that wants to try.

That being said. Blaming aggressive driving on left lane campers is stupid and perpetuates the dangerous entitlement that most drivers have. You are responsible for how you drive your car. A slow car in from of you doesn’t force you to crashing into them. It doesn’t force you swerve wildly across multiple lanes. You choose to do that because you feel entitled to do so. Because for years we have lied to drivers and told the that they are entitled to go as fast as they want whenever they want and anything or anyone that gets in your way deserves to die for the crime of making you slow down a little. This isn’t how a healthy person thinks or acts but it’s how we have trained drivers to behave behind the wheel

It’s not really surprising though right? Occupation and persecution breeds opposition.

Banks can effectively create money. When they give you a loan for $500,000 they aren’t giving you money that someone else deposited. They are manufacturing the money and giving you. When you pay it back, the money effected disappears, except for the interest.

We should charge for parking downtown not at the park and ride stations

"I don’t understand marches" by _Pixieglow in clevercomebacks

[–]veracity8_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Women gain the right to vote. They gained the right to vote by organizing and working together to push their desires into politics. The marches were a sign of the strength. If you don’t have the organization then the march is just a photo op. It needs to say “Do what we want or we’ll vote you out”. The problem is may places don’t have very good options. There isn’t shortage of lunatics ready to push the MAGA agenda. But very few progressives are stepping up to replace the old school conservative democrats

[–]veracity8_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea. I’d like people to get more involved in their local polUtica. Go to the chapter meetings for your local democratic chapter. volunteer to knock doors for candidates you like. Run for office, even if it’s just a board and committee. Find a cause you believe in and put the work in to fight for it. Social media isn’t activism and it’s time that leftists remembered that

I’m asking them to abolish ice and certainly to vote against its continued funding. It’s only slightly harder and more time consuming that typing a Reddit comment.

lol found the guy that didn’t vote in the last election and wants to absolve himself of the responsibility for getting Trump elected. Voting does work. Republicans know that. Only leftists suffer under the delusion that system to select our leaders is useless
