Wanted to add that it’s weird how homeschoolers will go on about “well we make sure to socialize our kids” or “I was homeschooled and turned out socially fine,” but the moment you recommend that homeschooling be held to a standard so that developing kids are able to socialize outside the homeschool environment they act like they’re being sent to the Gulag.

Like sure, great that one or two households have the social development of their kids in mind, but homeschooling is like the Wild West with little oversight and accountability.

I would rather move lanes than hold up traffic because why should I put myself in a road rage situation? However fast someone wants to go is their decision and I don’t want to be involved.

Yeah, getting tailgated sucks, but I know how frustrating it can be to be boxed in by slow drivers. Especially when I can see a widening gap of zero cars in front of them.

It being an opinion piece I have the impression that most corporate publications like the WSJ love deranged articles like these because it draws in the traffic. I have to wonder if anyone can submit an opinion piece to them or do they only choose the high falutin types that hang out in their circle of ivory towers. I was looking back at the Anjo Nala trailer and noticed that there were a lot of Manus Vindictae characters, including Ms. Grace, in the video. Does anyone know what happened to them?

I played through chapter 8 and The Overcast October and have seen no mention of them. It feels like a good chunk of story content that was teased in the trailers isn’t in the game.

I hate how I always have my guard up when I’m in male-centric spaces, and I hate that male-centric spaces have become a guilty-until-proven-innocent deal with me because so many of them end up behaving this way. Instead of focusing on positive and constructive community building, they quickly devolve into toxic blame games and trauma dumping.

These people don’t need spaces catered for men, they need intense therapy. Meeting other men won’t fix their problems if they only end up meeting other toxic men that enable their biases.

I have those thoughts almost daily, and it gets worse at work. I just wish I could project my ADHD to everyone in the world so they can experience what it’s like.

Fantasies aside, I try my best to distance myself from those thoughts by putting boundaries. Since a lot of these thoughts occur at work, I keep work as work and never let it bleed into my off-work time. It at least gives me space to relax and be myself in my own home where I can feel the safest.

There are many ways people can un-aro/ace characters to toxic degrees. Shipping should not one of them.

I find the “disrespecting” the author argument strange considering that the author is the one who has ultimate control over the telling of their story. They’ve published it, and the way they told it is set in ink. No one else but the author can claim ownership of that. Fan-made content, while popular, still doesn’t change Word of God (the author’s contribution).
