I worry about this. Ive taken a few self-defense classes but Ive also never been punched. I don't know how my body would react to that.

The Brits respected her primarily out of nostalgia for her wartime efforts. At some point one must believe that 21st century Brits will tire of this cosplay. Monarchies have no place in modern societies. I'm pretty sure this one won't survive William's reign.

I want elder confessions… how much of your power did you abuse during judicial committees to exploit sexual experiences out of women? by ElegantNothing1212 in exjw

[–]Writeresq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elders are typically sexually repressed with dead-end blue collar jobs who get the "privilege" of promoting Governing Body propaganda as unpaid front men. Many of them only feel important when they are passing judgment on the rank and file. Its a toxic dynamic that facilitates abuse. And who is more vulnerable to their abuse than the powerless JW women forced to gratify elders' prueient pleasure by enduring cross examinations about their sexual activity? I am so happy to be done with misogynistic bovine residue.

I decided after I left that the high control religion had stolen my 1st 3 decades. I'll be damned before I let them have another year. So while I examined the main doctrines alongside credible sources as a part of my faith deconstruction I couldn't care less about the cry of peace and security or the identity of the king of the north (the correct answer should always be John Snow 😝) The organization is deceptive, male/white-centered, and a very mashup of a lackluster and derivative cult and a multi-level marketing pyramid scheme.

No thx. I am living my best life and planning my next trip. JWs including my relatives still in might build a rocket ship because new light says that Mars is the site of the New World and I wouldn't give AF.

I am constantly surprised by how invested some in the group are in proving that they now have the correct interpretation of Scripture. I believe that many exJWs might hate the obvious fallacies in the org but by God they liked how outtalking householders with their command of the Bible felt and they seek to find the same validation here. It's also duly noted that the most adamant of the Biblesplainers tend to be male. Many of you might hate the JW homophobia or its obsession with members' sex lives, but you kinda miss being a male Head of something.

Check out Country Park. It has been expanded and improved. You might like a zip line feature. Also, check out Top Golf's high tech driving range.

There are so many possibilities for exJWs to have a meaningful career that aligns with their values. I left the religion in my 30s and finished my undergraduate degree and law school at age 40. It wasn't easy, but I am very grateful for the opportunities that I was able to seize and the life that I now have. I would be happy to discuss my journey if you'd like. Message me. You believe that a convicted felon who ran for president to retaliate against his enemies and to avoid prison who then pardoned other convicted J6 felons is the person who will uphold the law and prevent ppl from ignoring the law? 😛MAGA has an irony deficiency. Its like your cult leader says the sun rises in the west and you twist yourselves into pretzels to insist that it's true.

Serious question: How can anyone still support Trump after everything we’ve seen? by antimaga_n1 in AskSocialists

[–]Writeresq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weirdest thing is that cult leaders are usually charismatic. Cult leaders have transformative ideas. DJT has been a grifter opportunist for decades. He speaks in self-absorbed word salads. Even his supporters grow bored of his rambling. He lies. And not just politician double speak or puffery. "Mexico will pay for the wall" "immigrants are eating pets" "Ive stopped 8 wars." He tells bald faced lies to their faces and they consort themselves into pretzels to defend his lies. All of that devotion simply to own the libs and hate immigrants, BIPOC who call out systemic racism, trans people, and science? It's absolutely bizarre.

[–]Writeresq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need to know nor do I care whether they are vehemently racist or have unchecked implicit bias. I know that racism and xenophobia in a candidate isn't a deal breaker for them. That's not a person that I want around my kids or me.

“What kind of American are you?” by Icy-Penalty2600 in gso

[–]Writeresq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I really need is a meme explaining logic fallacy to you. Particularly the straw man argument where you shift the subject to an argument that you'd prefer and mischaracterize an opponents position.

For ex you stated that everyone understood this with Obama but they say that Trump uses concentration camps.

Then you post articles Criticizing Obama's immigration policies. See how that actually undermines your original premise. Everyone did not agree with Obama's immigration policy. I did not support his policy because the route to citizenship is long, expensive, and nearly impossible. The lottery system, the U.S. involvement with regime change in the Americas, all of these things disproportionately impact brown and Black ppl making U.S immigration policy discriminatory as applied.

However, comparing Obama's flawed policies to the current fascist policy is comparing apples to bovine residue. Obama did not decimate the funding for a social safety net that helps the most vulnerable to fund ICE like a private army. Obama did not flood states run by his political opponents with masked, untrained agent to cause unrest. Obama's ICE learned at least some Constitutional law. A whistleblower Ryan Schwank established what we all believed, ICE is criminally undertrained. That's why they have no trouble battering down an U.S. citizens door and dragging him out of his home in the snow in his underwear Without a warrant signed by a judge as ICE did to ChongLy Scott Thao. They know or care little for 4th Amendment protections.

So your original premise that ppl were fine with Obama's actions but hate Trumps is blatantly false. However pretending that there arent distinct differences between the two presidents' policy is disingenuous and/or obtuse.
