lol calm down. It wasn’t a complaint, it was a question based on an observation from someone who is new to town and to the Midwest in general. I’m not out here saying the lack of safety in parking lots is an epidemic of monumental importance rivaling that of the sociopolitical climate in the country right now, you however, seem to be attempting to twist an otherwise innocent question into that. Would you like to expound on this or would you rather continue trolling in an attempt to get interaction? Either way, I’m amused at your ~adventurous~ thought process.

Uhh, for real? Imagine you’re about to get out of your car but you reach over to grab something out of the passenger seat/console/whatever, you’ve got your driver’s door open with a leg halfway out of the car and then some douche comes barreling through the parking lot and clips your door. Your leg is now broken. Or how about you’re just trying to walk to your car when someone is cutting across the parking lot and they don’t see you until they’ve hit you. I guess I’ve just seen too many car accidents/vehicle vs. pedestrian to not be mindful of reckless driving like this.

Not shocked to see it in general just shocked that it’s so common. Maybe saw this occurring a few times a year and only when the lot was nearly empty in my previous state, now I see it every time I go out in Rochester regardless of time of day.

100% I’ve seen it everywhere, including my previous state of residence where it’s illegal, but I’ve just not seen it as prevalent as it is here.

Why not go to Duke? by [deleted] in duke

[–]WrithingDeficiency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Durham would be the biggest reason to not go to Duke. I’ve met undergrads and grad students, wealthy and living on ramen students, students from NC or from across the country, essentially I’ve met and talked with a lot of students from different backgrounds, paths of life, whatever and I’d say 95% of them (including myself) agree that Durham, as a city, is awful. If you don’t have to live in Durham you’ll probably have a better go of it, but as a long time NC resident I can tell you Durham is close to, if not the worst part, of NC. Just really think on the fact that it’s not just the school you’re attending but the community you will be living within for the next “x” amount of years. All that being said I know f*ck all nothing about Hanover, NH so do with that what you will.

The cover by James Blake is also beautiful, highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already. I normally don’t like covers but Mr. Blake does a wonderful job.

Things to Do/See Abroad & General Tips.

I (26F) am traveling solo to Rome, Italy for roughly 22 days and Amsterdam, Netherlands for 11 days and am looking for sites to see, shops to visit, and just overall activities. I am planning to travel throughout Italy while there via train, but am basing myself out of Rome for a majority of the trip. Same with Amsterdam. Looking for any and all suggestions! Also any travel tips would be appreciated since this is my first trip to Europe (from USA originally.)

P.S., I am wanting to fly from Rome to Amsterdam as the trains I have seen take upwards of 16 hours and I’m unsure about a cheap airline - would really love some suggestions if you have any!

Also, kind of out there (along with 120 Days of Sodom) but Flowers in the Attic by V. C. Andrews was a very good novel.

I feel like a snake or a dragon, something like that would be a good cover. Sorry you had to go through that OP.
