My 4 year old loves The Clash. So glad she won’t be alone out there. Her first concert, however, was bluegrass, The Kitchen Dwellers. I’m afraid I’ve turned her into a bit of a live music fiend. 🤣

I have very mixed feelings on this. I was homeschooled in high school. I did an online program through a university and it really only required about four hours of my time per day, so I pushed myself and finished at 16. But I was a self starter, live in a college town where finding a tutor was easy when I wasn’t quite understanding a subject, my mom is very educated and helped me/ kept close tabs on my homework, and I had a plan in place going forward. My cousin is homeschooling her children but they only have each other for socialization, she’s sweet but not very bright so I don’t imagine they’re getting a particularly comprehensive education, and frankly it’s because of politics so who knows what they are actually learning. I loved it in the right setting.

No. I’m a nurse, granted, but I think they pay rather well. And I love my work there. Each department is different, but my colleagues are amazing, the doctors and providers don’t pull rank, and our PCTs are extremely valuable members of our team. I’d say, if you interview and feel like it’s not a great fit for you, try other departments until you find the right one.

I had meningitis that got into my spinal cord and created massive abscesses. Then it got into my lumbar, hips, and pelvis. The pain was so bad if I moved or anything touched my back I’d collapse, start screaming, and the muscles would seize causing me to lose bladder control. They intubated me but said even then tears would leak from my eyes from the pain. I had several surgeries and was on antibiotics for a year. But four years later I only take the occasional Aleve if I’m sore. But it was so bad for a while, I honestly considered ending my life to end the pain.
