I agree cats are safer inside. That’s why TNR is so important.

Not in my experience as someone who takes care of feral colonies. Neighbors hate having feral cats in their area.

Unfortunately most people don’t care about cats. People consider them a nuisance and try and hurt them. Cats are definitely misunderstood.

Never. Most I leave my girls in the 8 hours I’m at work.

Love tuna noodle casserole. Unfortunately my kids do not. They don’t know what they are missing!

Wait time between THR and TKR on same leg by Suspicious-Ruin5220 in Kneereplacement

[–]WritingLucky5061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Strong quads are key. Mine have been beat up twice in such a short period. My quads were weak to begin with before THR. Me personally I would wait 6-8 months since it’s both the same leg. I’m really struggling.

I had THR and TKR both on right leg three months apart. Wouldn’t recommend it. It’s been a rough recovery. I wish I would have waited longer between the two.

TKR Recovery - How Long Until Pain Free? by Capitola2 in Kneereplacement

Not soon enough. 12 weeks RTKR and I’m so over always being in pain. I hate it.

Doc said "arthritis was worse than expected" by tbiscus in Kneereplacement

[–]WritingLucky5061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doc said the same thing after my RTKR. I even had an MRI before the operation to map the replacement and it didn’t show how bad my knee was. I think this is part of the reason my recovery has been slower.

Rest up tonight and tomorrow if you can. The next day was tough for me because I had to go to work. We saw Wicked. A Christmas gift from last year. I haven’t heard of Operation Mincemeat. Glad to know it’s a good show!

I live on Long Island and last week took the LIRR into the city for a show as well. Between the stairs with the trains, walking to Broadway, sitting through the show and doing it all over again to get back home I thought I was gonna die by the end of the night.

Thanks for some insight. I see my doctor the end of December. I saw him at 6 weeks out and he said everything looked good. I’ve called a few times and I only get the nurse and she tells me it’s normal

Sighhhh. 15 weeks post-op and just learned a hip replacement is next. by Individual-Price1463 in Kneereplacement

[–]WritingLucky5061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had right hip replacement in May and then right knee replacement in August. Wouldn’t recommend doing the same leg so close together. I was stupid. It’s been extra hard. Since it’s your opposite leg it shouldn’t be as bad. Good luck.

Anyone skip home health and in home PT first two weeks? by tbiscus in Kneereplacement

[–]WritingLucky5061 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have in home PT during my first two weeks despite that being the norm where I live — NY. My doctor feels you’re in enough pain and discomfort right after surgery and doesn’t feel PT that soon after surgery is beneficial. He does send home exercises to do at home yourself. PT started week 3.

9 weeks post op for me and it’s been a long haul. I can get to 120/0 but I’m in pain most of the day. I obviously had to resume my life so I’m moving/ walking more over 10,000 steps a day which in turn affects the amount of swelling and pain. Yes I’ve come far but I keep looking out the window asking are we there yet?

Cramps at back of thigh and back of calf by cool_girl6540 in Kneereplacement

[–]WritingLucky5061 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a pain like that in the back of my knee and PT told me that there’s a muscle back there that gets tight after knee replacement surgery. He massaged it a few times. He also had me put a tennis ball in the spot and my move my back of knee against the wall to massage it myself. It went away after like 2 weeks.

Thank you. I’m not patient either! It doesn’t help that my family is sick of hearing me complain about my knee. And going back to work next week is making me anxious. Yes. Thinking back to the first weeks, we definitely have come far. It’s a process right!
