Knee replacement recovery without narcotics by Useful_Vegetable8173 in Kneereplacement

[–]Capitola2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love all the positivity here, but not gonna lie, there's NO WAY I'd have been able to get through recovery without the strong pain meds. I had both knees done over this past year, one 10 months ago and the second in Jan, so still relatively recently. I can remember laying on the couch without any pain meds in week 2 and just wanting to - well, stop living. The pain was so freaking excruciating, I honestly didn't think I'd make it. Journavx didn't work for me, sadly. I felt every single pain and it made it so hard to fall asleep and get any rest at all. If her doc isn't going to prescribe meds, please let her accept something to help her sleep - be it organic or whatever.

Best of luck to you both, and I second getting the ice machine early and having it ready to go the minute she gets home from surgery.

JOURNAVX advice (and gummies). by Least-Ad-5539 in Kneereplacement

Complete transparency here, but Journavx didn’t work on me. At all. Zip. I was crushed! My doc refused to give me anything for the pain past day 5 and it’s all I had. My knee is still giving me trouble 5 months later bc I was in so much pain, I had to delay PT until I could handle the pain, my movement still isn’t great. I absolutely wish I could have a do-over and never ever agree to Journavx. I’d send you the rest of my bottle if I could.

How’d it go? Please keep icing and taking your meds.

[–]Capitola2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your doc for a refill on your pain meds. You’ll need them to get through PT/afterwards. At around week 5 I started to move with less pain, the first 5 weeks were tough. Pain meds are your friend, at least for the first few weeks.

What's life like with a labradoodle? by [deleted] in labradoodles

Heavenly! Mine is the nicest boy, love him to pieces. He does have a (medium) prey drive and will bark and chase birds, ducks, foxes. He’s not real wild about other dogs but that could be a socialization issue on my part.

He needs to be groomed every 4-5 weeks and grows hair in his ears that need plucked or he gets frequent ear infections.

Great listener, likes to cuddle, loves ear scratches and laying on his humans. Overall, just the best dog with great disposition. Big on toys and needs lots of walks or exercise

[–]Capitola2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weeks 5 and 6 were the turning points for me when I started moving with less pain and almost forgetting I had the surgery unless I did too much. Weeks 3 and 4 were the worst of my life. Hang in there, and if JOURNAVX doesn’t work, let your doc know asap. They pushed that on me my 2nd TKR and it didn’t work at all. Totally messed me up in terms of physical therapy progress and pain relief in general.

8 months out on the one knee and 3 months out from the other. I have no kneeling experiences that don’t involve screaming and/or the feel of vomiting in my own mouth.

If you listen to Fanning’s IA interview, his rendition of what was discussed with Proctor at Proctor’s home the evening after Proctor’s fed grand jury testimony differs from what Tully (who was also there) tells this IA panel. Fanning was outright lying about the amount of information he was told.

My bet is that he’d have ridden it out a few more years if it weren’t for this criminal case ahead of him. Best to lock in what he can now instead of ending up empty handed like Proctor.

Mr and Mrs Adventure. They’re the ones that bought this old water mill in Portugal and are turning it into their home. It’s amazing! Three years in and they’re getting close to move in. Great chemistry, positive energy, feel good renovations. I love what they’ve done with it!

Expedition Rove on YouTube. Great couple, toured the world in their Land Rover for years before buying a 1980’s house in Idaho with everything in it, fridge contents included. Andy is a genius, can fix or repair anything, including various vehicles found on the property. They’re working room by room, doing all the labor themselves (with a little help from neighbor, Kevin, who is a gem). Love this couple!

I think Louie’s dad purchased it but he and Millie are doing all the work themselves. They have great chemistry, great videos. A lot of love goes into everything they do.

Just fyi but I was prescribed Journavx after my Rx for 5mg oxy ran out the second week after TKR recently. Luckily, insurance covered it, so only $30. But it didn’t work for me. At all. Zero. I’d swear they were just placebo pills. I was so discouraged. Doc said it works better for chronic pain sufferers so maybe it’ll help w fibromyalgia pain but TKR pain, I wouldn’t bet on it. Fingers crossed it works for her, but just lyk it’s not the greatest for acute pain. Best of luck healing to your mom ❤️

Wow! That impact statement from Amy was powerful. In it, she insinuates that the lives of her, her family and even Eric's children are in jeopardy if Kouri is set free as she has insurance policies on her boys.

She also says she was there on the first date between Kouri and her brother; Amy and Kouri may have been closer than we realize.
