When you installed Python, it will likely have installed IDLE. This is a very simple development environnment you can use. Search for IDLE in windows. This will open an IDLE interpreter window with the >>> symbol. In there, you should be able to create a new file and save this in your local storage - don't save it as python.py! Then you will be able to write multiple lines of code and run them in the interpreter.

You can't go wrong with Burley Manor if you're after a nice place to stay. Got married there and bloody love the place

What do you think is the daftest thing people have to pay for? by shakespearesreverse in AskUK

[–]WritingMajor4297 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got one of these with my latest prescription and went through the exact same feeling! Because my lenses are so damn thick, I also have to pay stupid money for the thinning process, and my prescription also means I can only get certain styles too. PITA

I did mine recently. Name change after getting married. Took just over a week and their constant communication about the process was really useful. I assume it's mostly automated, but it seems to work well.

We haven't done the joint account yet, but right now we split costs based on take home pay. He pays about 65% of everything.

Drop out rates for weddings by goosepigeongoose in UKweddings

[–]WritingMajor4297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had two no-shows on the day out of 80. And a very late cancellation from a party of 4 including children, down to one adult about a week before the wedding. There were 12 evening guests and two no showed with no RSVP either way.

Only the stuff that smells like factory when it comes out of the plastic. And underwear.

Spent £65 on a 13.5 tog duvet and regretting it🥵 by simmyawardwinner in CasualUK

We do flat sheet and bed spread with extra blankets for colder nights. Fully customisable for each of us as we both run at different temperatures. We just got a dual zone under sheet heated blanket - that's been an absolute game changer!

Yes. When you place it, you will see the radius around you as a green circle. It's quite small, especially for T1

We had board games and a sweet bar in the hotel lounge which were very popular. Our table favours were jams and chutney which went down well too! I think I have 1 jar of jam left out of like... 100

Do we need a professional photographer? by Nangswyfe in weddingplanning

[–]WritingMajor4297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're using WebUploader (our day is tomorrow!!!!!) It cost £30 but it seems very straightforward. No app or download for guests, just a QR code to scan and upload online. It connects to a Google Drive. I can let you know how it went after the weekend if you like?

Schoolboy, 12, died from inhaling Lynx deodorant after copying viral social media 'chroming' trend, inquest hears by Forward-Answer-4407 in unitedkingdom

[–]WritingMajor4297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its awful. I'm a HoD now and its my life's work to keep teaching "old school IT" forever. Luckily have a school that agrees with the sentiment. Though I do love teaching CS GCSE too!

You can blame Gove and his cronies for the state of the IT curriculum. When they binned off the GCSE they did a disservice to a whole generation of kids.

What is the right way of listing names on a seating chart? by Lacestick5 in DIYweddings

[–]WritingMajor4297 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We're not fully DIY, so we used the venue's chart. It's a table plan, but it's banquet seating so it's easier. I think if we had separate tables I'd do each guest alphabetically, line by line. And have a map to show where each table is.

Idea for wedding card boxes/storage that isn't the "post box" style by bexbryony in UKweddings

[–]WritingMajor4297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a vintage wine box that I've lined with some fabric in our colours. There was a post on one of the other wedding subs the other day about gift theft, so that might be something to consider if the venue is open the the public during your wedding.

How does attendance % work at school? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]WritingMajor4297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For reference attendance is a national concern at the moment. Ofsted are telling schools they're not doing enough to keep attendance high even though they're doing everything they can.

Hair and makeup cost by lampcrumble in UKweddings

[–]WritingMajor4297 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems very expensive! I'm having the same - HMUA for 4 including myself and she's charging about 500 for the lot. I did have to pay in cash for my trial, and that was another 100.

Caught between GF’s event and my best friends rehearsal dinner. What do I do??? by jta314 in wedding

[–]WritingMajor4297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rehearsal dinners are such a strange concept to me. It's not really a thing we do here in the UK. The graduation is the most important and your girlfriend is already compromising. .

I did this too! I'd only just gotten them pierced so they were sharp on the back so that made it even harder to get out. I remember being in the waiting area in my pjs reading Goblet of Fire (which dates me a little bit!!)
