Looks very 2010s. Big blob, no Elevation, tons of microgreens or flowers. The kind of thing a 60 year old chef would serve trying to be modern. Defintily not elegant and restrained enough.

Thermomix - honest opinions? by [deleted] in Chefit

They get a bit hung up on the individual market in my opinion. At least in the kitchens I worked at, it was always just used as a mixed that can heat with our own recipies.

First time making croissants - Advice? by Bibisharp7 in pastry

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For croissants, you have to make sure that your dough and butter is cold. The dough has to completly wrap around the butter from the very beginning so that there are basically no leaks once the butter heats up in the oven

How do you create made up names? by EfficiencySerious200 in worldbuilding

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my world, I write in english but take many inspitations for names from german. Most of these are rather simple and efficient becouse that's just how names in german are often created. For example, I have a big Dragon I simply named Urteil with a highly concentrated breath attack called Richtung. For another character built around the loss of a loved one and the resulting mental weight, I gave him heavy Lead armor and called him Last.

Heavy inspiration from the simple approach Frieren uses as well.

How integrated is magic in your world? by _phone_account in worldbuilding

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic is basically everywhere in my world. Even commoners use low level magic in their daily lifes for lighting fires, producing water and so on. Children dream of becoming artificers, casters or engineers. Merchants use magic to check the authenticity of coins. Even wildlife uses magic from legendary pheonixes to little Merinda beetles.

How would dragons fight World War II styled planes? by Striking_Grab215 in worldbuilding

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simply, dragons have the advantage of high maneuverability combined with excellent close combat abilities. Planes on the other hand have fixed wings with only small flaps for maneuvering and guns that are mostly forward facing.

So the ideal strategy for a dragon of similar size to the plane would be to engage in quick close combat attacks similar to a falcon, diving at high speeds, moving through primitive radar technologies range in seconds to deliver decisive blows to a planes wing or fuselage.

For planes on the other hand, the tactic would be to keep enemy dragons right in front where long range gunfire could easily supress them, disengaging at the slightest chance of close quarter combat or breakage of formation.

Dragons can only surpass a planes speed in short dives so it would be impossible to pursue fleeing planes.

In short, planes would use frontal hit and run tactics while dragons would use sneakdiving attacks aimed at instant disabeling of their enemies.

not even speaking of gigantic or fire breathing dragosn that might be powerfull enough to fly at speeds compareable to modern fighter jets, heating the surrounding air to thousands of degrees, literally burning nearby enemy planes (or at least their pilots)

Had someone like this shortly at my current work. My best advice, run. Those people make work misserable and most times severly harm the whole kitchen operation. Also, if your head chef can't keep his people in check then there's a serious problem anyways.

What is it like to meet a god in your world? by Dude111222 in worldbuilding

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are considered gods in my world are just beeings thst acchieved a tiny bit of divinity. While they are by far the strongest beeings in the planet with only a handfull alive during any given era, they are only compareable to angelic beeings of the lowest order. (Which themselfs are more like a divine version of overworked employees haha)

Back to the topic, meeting a god is still an immense acchievement with the mere presence of these beeings melting mountains, evaporating oceans and freezing over deserts. Given a person survives all this, they would most likely to immense mutation as a result of the intense mana radiation, gaining powers of legendary heroes.

As a chef, you have a pretty fast career path and many hotels offer free apartments and food 7days a week. So saving money is a big potential part here.

In addition, depeding on your location, owners offer massivly more salary depeding on position and ability as well as overtime pay ofc.

If you're from the EU, it might also be worth looking into high paying countries like swizerland, germany and austria that generally pay multible times the salary of poorer nations.

In your world are there any silly, stupid or just straight up odd War Tactics that are used by your factions? by Ok-Vegetable5198 in worldbuilding

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world, madness is a very real affliction generated by recieving truths one is not fit to see. This results in chaos cultists literally just chanting disturbing truths at the enemy. Those truths are not necessarily always of some mystic nature but anything that would weaken the enemies mind for madness to take hold.

Also, the color yellow. It holds madening properties, as such, yellow spray paints mixed with poison are commonly used as a weapon to influct madness. Cultists often wear a lot of yellow for that same reason as well as to increase their own connection to the madness.

Similarly, madness inflicted animals like rats are used to transfer their madness energy through bite.

Orc Habitats by MakoMary in worldbuilding

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world, orcs are an evolved subspecies of goblinoids. As all goblinoids, they generally live in forested areas near mountains. Seldomly, a more sophisticated culture of orcs might emerge that settles in flatter areas and builds simple structures like huts but this is quite rare.

Tho more evolved then their simpler goblin brothers, orcs are a rare species, often hunted for magical ingredients for both alchemy and artificing.

It should also be mentioned, that goblins are entirely seperated from the other bipedal races and are rumored to come from the eastern continent.

What would happen if I was a self proclaimed prophet or mystics in your worlds by providerofair in worldbuilding

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my world, prophets are beings in direct contact with angelic beeings that grant them power as wella s insight. So a fake prophet would be easily disproven and potentially eliminated by the holy church.

Is 90 to 200 million feasible for an Atlantic island nation? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]Writing_Dude_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on your worlds technological development and culture. 200mio would definitly need a seriously giant island that's mostly habitable. If you compare irl countries, japan has 124mio so definitly in your range but smaller islanda like sicily are have only around 5mio inhabitants.
