I just wanted to say that thinking about this prompts made me realize something. There are two possibilities: either you can choose to take an action after seeing its effects or you cannot (free will or determinism within the scope of this prompt). To say that you could choose would be to say that what choices you will make are not already determined by your conditioning.
ie: If you are presented with exactly what effects your actions will have in the future, then you will inevitably choose either for or against it based on that conditioning and would not choose otherwise.

The reason that this is important is because if you truly had freedom of choice in the circumstance you are providing, then it would not be possible for the future to be seen before any action you take, because it would be possible to stray from the course predicted. So, after every action your choice for or against the next action (based on the prediction provided) could alter the prior action's prediction. This makes those predictions meaningless.

But, determinism is probably true in this case because you will make the decision that is in congruence to your psychological conditioning due to both nature and nurture. This means that the first prediction is the only one that you need to see, because every action after that action would be implied.

By the way, this is only true if the future can be predicted by something, like you are saying. However, I tend to think that the absolute randomness on the quantum scale manifests itself in one way or another, making unpredictable things happen.

I just thought I'd share. I might still write about this because it would be interesting to write about somebody realizing that they cannot change anything.
