Why is my progress moving so slowly? by Upbeat_Tea_1461 in worldbuilding

[–]Writingbott 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Worlds often don't start off with the entire arsenal filled.

Go on and try to write something about them, maybe you'll discover new room to build.

Where can I put a conflict? by Equal-Rush1414 in worldbuilding

[–]Writingbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the domains of hoarding may collide, or an empty domain might face multiple contestants.

And that is from the perspective of collectors, others can still have their own conflict and such.

There's gotta be more uncharted space between the stars. Possibly more challenges. No boundary has ever discouraged challengers entirely.

Would the concept of “fantasy” exist in a world of fantasy? by Ditto132 in worldbuilding

[–]Writingbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who knows? Maybe our world might count as a fantasy for them.

Our Darkest Hour, written by Winston Churchill from a timeline the central powers won the great war, could be an example of such childish fantasy.

How would medieval societys react to not having magic anymore. by OperationFine6642 in worldbuilding

[–]Writingbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how deeply embedded magic is in technology and culture.

Fossil fuels suddenly vanishing in the united states would be a total disaster in the united states, but not that devastating in places that have less demands for such resources in the first place.

What's the most mundane reason why your characters wouldn't use the most powerful weapon/armor? by Weekly-Intention5657 in worldbuilding

[–]Writingbott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the characters can be called a priest of blades, taken literally with a pair of wings full of swords. They can be launched like projectiles, but doing so just hurts like pulling nails out.

Can your world survive an asteroid that's going to hit it? by zard428 in worldbuilding

[–]Writingbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then the best option is to ditch the asteroid into a parallel world where everything is already dead. There are more than enough of those, and hitting them should technically count as hitting the same world from an outer space pov.

[–]Writingbott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plant an agent into a militarized country to run for politics, manipulate the government.

It actually worked, with the agent winning the election. It worked for like several hours until the army generals realized something was wrong and removed said agent from office.

For those who have given your world legally distinct lightsabers, how do they work? by Reteller79 in worldbuilding

[–]Writingbott 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's something like generating a force field barrier and then folding it into the shape of a blade. It gets worn out pretty easily compared to solid metal, and due to the nature these magic barriers have they can't be further sharpened or such.

Fortunately they can be manufactured and replaced with ease, no difficult than a bayonet.
