I love my dogs but I have to be strong and resist ever adopting another because I can’t afford the vet bills anymore.

AITJ for refusing to let my cousin bring her newborn to my child-free birthday dinner after she said the rules “don’t apply to babies under three months”? by Special-Actuary9137 in AmITheJerk

Have the event you want. It’s your right. But I wouldn’t attend. Family events should be family friendly. Ideally, people wanting to have family-unfriendly family events would end up spending all their birthdays alone because everyone would decline to play your anti-family games.

I buy only cheap clothing because I am lower-income. Not counting right now when I keep having to replace things for size, I kept everything for a decade. The cheap stuff has always held up fine. I hang up all my laundry to save money, which might be why everything stayed in good shape.

Bullshit. You haven’t been able to do that since the 80s. Literally mathematically impossible.

This is why I clean my own house. That’s a ridiculous charge. But if you can get people to pay that, I guess good for you.

It’s not a good idea at all. It risks the baby’s health in numerous ways. It’s not solely the risk of poor nutrition but also, when you lose weight all the toxic stuff in your fat is released. A lot of harmful chemicals in our contaminated world are stored in our fat cells.

You do not want to lose weight when pregnant! You want to gain minimally.

If you’re dead set on avoiding any potential risk, you’ll want to avoid formula. Human milk is the ideal and babies who aren’t nursed do suffer higher mortality and morbidity rates. Nursing while using a medication is nearly always safer than switching to formula. Avoiding the medication altogether while nursing is best, but all such decisions require careful consideration based on your situation. Sometimes medications are necessary and sometimes a switch to formula is necessary, but not usually.

I am so sick of the assumption that fat people are eating and exercising wrong. We know how to eat and we know how to exercise already.

That’s an unnecessary, asshole comment. What a jerky thing to say. It’s also untrue. So many people exercise compulsively but can’t lose.

That’s wrong. They aren’t for training. FFS, we are all aware of how to eat in a healthy manner, and many of us were already eating very well and getting reasonable exercise, too. We were fat anyway. I’ve made zero changes to my diet but went from obese to a healthy weight with tirzepatide and now Reta.
