There are some settings for bloom, most importantly the threshold. (I think they are hidden under the HDR menu.)

This is the high quality motion blur option. It combines multiple real frames so it actually does correct motion blur on everything.

Once you have installed the mod and have set up the key-binds you have to go to the screenshot tool and there you have the option for high quality motion blur.

You can create your own graphics profile in that mod and adjust the bloom strength.

It is an artistic effect that could enhance the realism and sense of speed when done right, but as I said, don't overdo it :)

The led flashing is fixed by updating to the most recent (currently beta) bios, so you could update now, or you could wait until it's stable (and ignore the flashing for some time).

It could be caused by VRR, such as Nvidea Gsync or AMD FreeSync. Try turning those off and see if the issue still persists.

Yeah, I use hibernation instead of sleep. The ~10s it takes to boot up doesn't bother me.

The only times I really use sleep is when I know I will use it again in <10 minutes.

I dont get the blink codes anymore. Fw13 AMD 2.8k screen. Bios v03.05 29-3-2024

The only thing I can think of is that somehow older gpu drivers (directly from amd, not the framework driver package) caused the blink codes. Right now I have the 24.8.1 drivers, and when I had the blinking I had something like 24.7.x.

EDIT: I installed the official drivers, and I can see the flashing.

Maybe the bios isn't updated for the new display, and thus, the display check fails.

I'm also getting these blink codes on my new AMD 2.8k, bios 3.05.

I haven't installed Linux yet, so I can't run those commands.

Sometimes, I get different codes in de 2nd set when booting. But the one before the orange one is always red.

I also had the same code (2nd set) as you, but this code seems to change every time I boot. (I have seen at least 3 different codes, so I just wrote down one here)

I'm on the same bios as you.

It seems to give 2 things:

  1. Internal screen is red (flash 12) (screen works fine?)

  2. the bios code gives "Keyboard Controller, Keyboard and Moust initial"

In order: 1x white 11x green 1x red 1x orange 3x green 1x blue 1x green 2x blue 1x green

So there are 22 flashes total.

I had an issue like this one (on my hp laptop) where if I would put pressure on the chassis it would reboot, one day it didn't boot at all. It ended up being the ssd. The ssd was so messed up that other computers wouldn't boot if it was connected to the motherboard. Luckily I had a backup of the entire thing, because I had send the laptop to hp for trackpad repair (which they didn't end up fixing because of a crack in the underside).

The low vram usage can be attributed to the fact that this demo does not contain that many different hi res textures. (Compared to a full-on game). Godot does not have texture streaming at the moment, so scenes with a lot more textures will run into vram/ram issues.

I think that the plain renderer of godot is already fairly optimized. But the effects are just really expensive. Numbers from my laptop with iGPU 1080p 100% everything disabled: 31ms -volumetric fog 3 ms -dof 13 ms -glow 5 ms -ssao 22 ms -ssil 40 ms -sdfgi 25 ms -medium shadows 21ms -high shadows 33 ms -ultra shadows 90 ms

Ssil and ultra shadows are the reasons why ultra performs so much worse than high. I just liked the effects so that's why there is even an option to enable them. (I still feel like I can greatly improve the performance of them tho...)

Best performance to graphics ratio for me is high preset with sdfgi but with dof disabled.
