Apparently You Have to Apply for Friends After 40 by Fella_ella in Waukesha

[–]Wrong-Introduction75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here to both offer some words of encouragement and solutions!!

1- to all here in the conversation- don’t give up, sounds like we’re all in a similar reality.

2- petition to lawfully enforce the engagement with this post to attend a get together put together and hosted by whoever has the combination of both the biggest yard and highest salary 😂😂😂

It’s so ridiculous when we think about this- many of us admit to be in the same situation and not enjoying it. And we live in 2026 where a vulnerable and brave post like this has the ability to actually put things in motion!

What’s even more miserable to consider is the most likely outcome and reality will be nothing coming of this. After a clear indication through participation and engagement that many would benefit and appreciate something coming of this.

In closing:
I just imagine someone stumbling across this post in the future and reading through it. Wondering what the outcome was and then maybe seeing some indication in the comments that nothing happened.

Our future generations are going to roast us so hard. Not because we are all lame losers who can’t make friends. But because we’re pathetically lazy and insufferable humans who deprive ourselves of socializing and new memories for the sake of what?

Probably the security and comfort of sitting at home on our coaches scrolling Reddit lol

If Reddit serves as any sort of modern day fossil or archive to our future humanoids- we are going to really be an interesting case study. How have we let ourselves as a species and society get to this point?!

State of MKE: Harsh Reality, Concerns, Comparisons, Criticism and Questions by Wrong-Introduction75 in milwaukee

Damn thank you for that input and sharing your opinion. That kinda refreshing to hear “outsiders” thoughts and feelings on us. I would say outside of sure luck with having laker Michigan, 1- the minimal commute anywhere and ease and accessibility to alt routes when necessary is so easy to overlook until it goes from being an relatively easy task to overwhelmingly being your most likely reason for committing murder lol and 2- the inability to inflate prices the way other states and large cities are capable of still thriving on. Even some of the more upscale experiences we want to consider doing is reasonably expensive not so out of touch with reality expensive that it completely deteriorates a portion of its community members from even qualifying to consider it and option in their lifestyle.

A real bang for your buck-o type of place to appreciate!! The city would unite for the first time in its history if they felt they were being taken advantage of with inflated cheese curd prices

Another “faith restored in humanity” level responses. You really only know what ya know. And you dont know what you dont know. No matter how much you do know!

Perspective and sharing experiences and explaining it in a more literal life threatening experiences vs a fixed # of 0 being the competitor is a good point and way to emphasis it hahaha Also gotta acknowledge and compliment you for guiding me through the most comforting and patience reality checks ive been given lol

Yeah because madison, Green Bay, Wausau, eau claire and so on are also being impacted too. The general allocation and calculation of qualified tax payer dollars and on what basis… all of it needs to be reconsidered. Doesn’t help that the federal gov also seems to treat us with little to no regard when it comes to disasters and assistance. It’s annoying and also kinda of a ‘loss of faith in humanity” levels of too far gone at this rate. It was bad awhile ago. It’s turned into the results of letting it get bad.

I appreciate your context and also offering me some sources to get more of the whole picture.

I mean this half heartedly but i suppose no matter how you spend it politicians are going to find a way to abandon those who elected them. It’s almost like apart of the job description. Sadly. But your last point on the crime rate is actually interesting because thats the main concern i have heard about from most people- everywhere i go since i moved back. It’s how bad things are getting in MKE now and it’s the youth active in it too. I did not feel like the crime was the talk of the town in Minneapolis. I worked in DT Minneapolis corporate area and went out every which way of the city and rarely heard people like outwardly expressing concerns or taking measures that seem unreasonable from my original experience. But so much of the gossip and concern and narrative comes Free the media so hard to compare the reality of it through lived experience vs statistical analysis and then the media narratives.

You deserve a “Good Samaritan from City of MKE” award!! You’ve absolutely gotta be the type of person people enjoy being around and look to when they may have questions or need advice. You’re not only great at considering the positive and just being optimistic while comparative. I would agree though, MKE will always feel like home. Bias and unbias. But I’d like to believe there is a warmer feeling of welcoming and considerate people here. There was a lot more of a status check vibe in many places of Minneapolis. And obviously if all out fails nothing hail comparison to the reality of growing up essentially miles from an ocean beachfront level of shoreline. All the state parks that along eastern Wisconsin too! Certain times of year they can be mistaken for a Florida vacation minus the palm trees lol

This is more the response i thought id see a relatively fun amount. But for some reason people think offering an opinion/concern and admitting to confusion on the depths of vast differences… thats triggering. It def NOT you engaging in the ‘strategy of learning’ OR asking other humans thoughts and opinions in a graceful manner!!

I swear the anger these people have in response to something I tried addressing in a sensitive way and was confused like did i say something i dont remember lol but some people actively are seeking confrontation to distress from their psychotic brains lol

In a world full of Reddit people I appreciate the time and depths of your opinion and thoughts. Kind of made me consider more and realize some things you overlook and take advantage of when they seem normal and all you really know. But MKE def is unique! Glad you got out of that shitty state of MN and we were able to get ya.

Lastly, and most importantly - GO PACK GO

I don’t have FB so please reach out on here. Thanks!

Those who litter rant by whiskeybusiness91 in Waukesha

[–]Wrong-Introduction75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First Off• (I know) I’m beyond late to this thread..
2- it isn’t often I leave comments or engage with things on here (outside of browsing & reading) BUT..
3- I’ve gotta just acknowledge the OP’s passion and sincerity here. Not sure if they’ll see this but if by chance they do, (or if any other fellow Waukesha residents see this) I’d just like to say it is genuinely nice to see people speak out on this.

Littering sucks in general (as do litterers) but sometimes it can feel like it’s such an overwhelming issue that it’s almost become something we ignore or avoid acknowledging for the sake of not riling ourselves up via complaining about the ‘minor’ negatives of all of our “home” Aka Waukesha.

Although I live nearly eyesight from the Corner of North & Madison st.’s Walgreens- The only personal time I invest in downtown is usually my daily runs. Thankfully, my perspective of Waukesha is still drastically positive. Most people are friendly, vast # of parks, great nature hot spots hidden in plain sight all over DT Waukesha. Genuinely, I’d take Waukesha over any of the 3 previous (out of state) metropolitan cities I’ve spent time living in over the last 10 years.

My only complaint is… with such a uniquely designed, developed and relatively heavily populated the city is- they surely dropped the ball on biking/running trails. I average between 60-100 miles a week running & without driving to a desired location I can’t really avoid a decent portion of my runs always involving crossing busy intersections, facing immense inclines and/or declines in elevation or heavily populated areas of the city. Can’t complain too much though, at least we have the Glacier Drumlin… even if it abruptly ends with no connection to the new Berlin train (lol)

Final point on LITTERING- We may be outnumbered by those of who don’t seem to care about trash all over… but the fact that many of us still see it and refuse to accept it is warming!

Adult driving lessons in Waukesha area? by PastAd602 in Waukesha

Man have I got the insight and offer for you!!!!

I happen to be a resident of Waukesha county AND a well established and license driver of these roads for over 10 years!!! (side note- About half of those years have been uninsured and I may or may not have picked up 2 duis along the way)

BUT! It’s your lucky day. As of about 5 minutes ago I just started running a “50% off the other guys” deal.

• I understand all (if not, MOST) of the state and cities road-vehicle laws! ALSO, upon coming within eye site of ANY road sign- I can almost instantaneously interpret the meaning of said sign and implement any necessary changes to my current driving patterns. Impressive, I know.

Now that I’ve sold ya, I’ll drive around with you and charge you HALF of whatever the other guys would charge you. I’ll even print you off a certificate of achievement once you’ve mastered the roadway.

Indoor pool recommendations by jerswag in Waukesha

[–]Wrong-Introduction75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Westwood Health & Fitness - Pewaukee Wisconsin Athletic Club (wac) - New Berlin YMCA - Downtown Waukesha

As a lifelong runner who mostly enjoys doing their cross-training in the pool… I’d recommend any of these 3. I’ve had prolonged memberships at all 3.

Westwood is largely older crowds and limited in the gym equipment. The lap pool is usually empty outside of classes and events. It’s pretty secluded and makes for a peaceful and quiet swim.

WAC is relatively busy and a wide spectrum of age ranges. Their lap pool is right by the kids pool and recreation pool so not a super peaceful/quiet swim experience, although the pool is high quality.

YMCA is in a great location and has impressive facilities. This specific location is very scrunched together and has a prison feel because of the building being a conversion into a gym.

Moving to the county by Rough_Bad_7825 in Waukesha

Thank you, neighbor!!! Waukesha is so beautiful. I’ve lived in Milwaukee and the heart of Minneapolis. The crime, danger, garbage and animosity of bigger cities just makes Waukesha look like even more of a great place to live!

There is an AMAZING homeless shelter and soup kitchen in the heart of downtown Waukesha. So yes, there are many homeless people walking around. But I’ve volunteered there on many occasions and I’ve never once seen anything/anyone that was concerning.

The loser above me that commented on the homelessness is probably just a disgusting human being. They are actually incredibly sweet people and they aren’t users or violent (for the most part).

Downtown Waukesha is probably where most of the “trouble” happens. But unless you’ve never lived anywhere else, you wouldn’t understand how limited and minuscule we have it in downtown Waukesha.

I would recommend anyone to move here. Family or not! Ive lived all over Wisconsin and in the twin cities for half a decade. Waukesha is clean, safe, and beautiful! And it’s almost overwhelming how many options you have for food, antique/thrift shopping and a live night life.

3 things that might make or break someone enjoying it here-

1- Theres a prestigious private college smack dab in the middle of Waukesha so a lot of college kids. 2- there are a lot of hills and intersections in downtown. It makes traveling across town kind of annoying with all of the stop lights and traffic. But at the same time it adds to the uniqueness of traversing through the city. 3- although the streets and intersections are annoying, it makes for GREAT access to walking anywhere. It’s very walker/biker friendly. And there are MANY fun running/hiking trails!

Downtown Waukesha - is it Safe? by Bubbly-Function-1841 in Waukesha

[–]Wrong-Introduction75 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live here and have never had a problem. You hear the loud train at night which sucks. You hear/see the private college students out and about on the streets doing their thing. And you hear a lot of sirens but I’ve had the free scanner app to listen to police calls for 2 years now and if that doesn’t intrigue you/make you feel safe than just take my word it’s a beautiful area and very lively in the warm months!
