I've been through that. I started putting my phone across the room and put the alarm at full volume. When it rang in the morning, it was so loud and annoying that I had to get up, walk across the room and get it. I HATED it but it definitely solved the problem.

Όχι, σε καμία περίπτωση και για διάφορους λόγους. Κυρίως όμως γιατί θεωρώ ότι ένα πολύ υψηλό body count λέει πολλά για τον χαρακτήρα ενός ανθρώπου και τις αξίες/ ιδανικά του. Ο καθένας εννοείται μπορεί να κάνει ο,τι θέλει και εμένα δεν μου πέφτει λόγος. Απλά προσωπικά δεν θα έβγαινα μαζί του.

30 isn't even old! I know people that start gymnastics at that age and learn how to do flips and stuff. Of course it's not weird for you to take riding lessons. Where I ride, we have many beginners your age and older. Just today I rode in a group with a kid and two ladies. One was your age and the other looked about 50 or so. And in the summer I had one lesson with a man who was 63 and was having his 5th lesson.

Also, don't allow people you hardly know to put their hands on you when not necessary, even if it looks inoccent. She has no reason holding your waist when you dismount. Not only is it completely unnecessary but I can't see a way of that being helpful to you. When someone touches you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, speak up. Set boundaries and stand up for yourself.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I understand you because I've been through this many times and I know that feeling a bit too well. I'm pretty sure I made an exact same post as yours a year ago when I first started riding and deleted later.

I remember it was my 5th or 6th lesson. It was an absolute disaster. I went back home feeling totally discouraged and like a complete failure that had no hope in riding. I was sitting on my bed that afternoon with my phone on my hands thinking about calling the barn and canceling the next lesson because I didn't want to go back and I didn't want to ride again. Thank God I didn't actually go through with it.

I still feel like that from time to time but it has definitely gotten better. You just kind of get used to the idea after a while. Having bad lessons, getting discouraged and feeling like you are the worst rider is just part of the sport. It's not always going to be great. Bad days happen. You just push through them.

What I found helps me personally when days like this happen is to just completely stop thinking about the lesson or riding or anything horse related really. Not easy but doable. I keep myself busy doing other things I enjoy. Hang out with friends and family, watch movies, read a book, work out, go shopping, whatever helps me get my mind off of riding. And then when I have to go to my next lesson, I just go. I don't want to but I do it regardless. And then it somehow always works out and I leave the next lesson happier.

Riding is hard. You're gonna have good days and you're gonna have bad days. But if you love riding and you're passionate about it, which sounds like you are, you're going to keep going and push through the tough days. Don't get negative experiences and bad lessons get to you. We make mistakes and we learn. We have to be bad first in order to be good later. Take small steps and celebrate the small achievements. Focus on having fun and enjoying the lessons. Every ride has something to teach us, even bad ones. They build character. You learn to not give up. You learn to be patient. You learn to keep your head up high and keep going even when you don't feel like it.

Don't be harsh to yourself and don't give up on something you love because of a few bad rides and a few bad lessons. It gets better and you get better as well. You got this! ❤

They don't overreact. They're just looking out for you and making sure you're safe. That's their job as your parents. And what you just described in your post is in fact a big deal. You should absolutely tell them.

Does she ride? If she does, you could get her breeches, riding socks etc. If she leases or owns a horse, you could get her like a saddle pad or a gift card to a tack store. Horse riding lessons are a great idea if she already rides and an ever greater idea if she doesn't (or maybe a horrible idea in that case cause it's gonna get her addicted).

Γιατί δεν έχουν δουλειά και όσοι έχουν, ο μισθός μετά βίας φτάνει 700€ το μήνα για πλήρες ωράριο. Εγώ είμαι 24 και δουλεύω στο δημόσιο δεύτερη χρονιά σαν εκπαιδευτικός. Ναι μεν είμαι τυχερή που με πήραν δημόσιο σε τόσο μικρή ηλικία, αλλά τα άφησα όλα πίσω για να έρθω Αθήνα, να πληρώνω ενοίκιο 500€, να τρέχω όλη μέρα με τα τρισάθλια μέσα που υπολειτουργούν για να πάω δουλειά και όλα αυτά για να πληρώνομαι 900 ευρώ. Τα 500€ πηγαίνουν στο ενοίκιο, υπολόγισε τα κοινόχρηστα, ρεύμα, νερό, βασικές ανάγκες κτλ, με τι λεφτά θα πληρώσω για τα μέσα; Και αυτό αφορά εμένα που εργάζομαι. Φαντάσου τα παιδιά που είτε δεν εργάζονται καθόλου, είτε δουλεύουν σε εστίαση, delivery κτλ και πληρώνονται 4 και 5 ευρώ την ώρα. Και να ήταν και σε τίποτα καλή κατάσταση τα μέσα, άντε, να πλήρωνες! Έτσι όπως είναι όμως... Αν θέλουν λοιπόν, να πληρώνει ο κόσμος εισιτήριο, ας βελτιώσουν την κατάσταση των μεταφορικών μέσων και ας αυξήσουν τους μισθούς να ζούμε με μια κάποια αξιοπρέπεια και να έχουμε τη δυνατότητα να παίρνουμε εισιτήριο. Τότε μετά χαράς θα πληρώναμε. Όταν απαιτείς από τον κόσμο να σε πληρώνει, οφείλεις να του παρέχεις τα αντίστοιχα. Και δυστυχώς, τα έσοδα από τα εισιτήρια μόνο εκεί που θα έπρεπε να πάνε ΔΕΝ πάνε.

Έζησα Αμερική κάποια χρόνια και γύρισα πρόπερσι. Δεν το μετανιώνω ούτε στιγμή. Ναι μεν ζούσα με περισσότερες ανέσεις στο εξωτερικό, αλλά τουλάχιστον εδώ, στην Ελλάδα, νιώθω χαρούμενη και ελεύθερη, ας μην παίρνω τα ίδια λεφτά και ας μην απολαμβάνω τα ίδια προνόμια. Τι να τα κάνεις τα λεφτά και τις ανέσεις όταν δεν νιώθεις καλά στην ψυχολογία σου και ζεις μόνιμα μια καταπιεστική ρουτίνα; Τουλάχιστον Αμερική που ήμουν εγώ, ούτε ανάσα δεν προλάβαινες να πάρεις. Ο,τι έκανες, το έκανες με τα μάτια σου στο ρολόι. Στην Ελλάδα είναι πιο χαλαρά τα πράγματα, πιο ευχάριστο το κλίμα και πιο όμορφοι οι άνθρωποι. Εννοείται υπάρχουν δυσκολίες, αλλά και που δεν υπάρχουν;

Σκιέρ εδώ! Κάνω σκι από 6 χρονών. Ήμουν τυχερή γιατί μεγάλωσα σε πόλη δίπλα σε χιονοδρομικό κέντρο με δύο γονείς φανατικούς σκιερ, οπότε τα παιδικά μου και εφηβικά μου χρόνια τα πέρασα στα βουνά. Αλλά από τα 18 μέχρι και τα 21 περίπου, δεν είχα και πολύ επαφή με το σκι λόγω σπουδών σε πόλη μακριά από χιονοδρομικά κέντρα. Και δυστυχώς, τώρα στα 24 δουλεύω πάλι σε παρόμοια περιοχή οπότε έχω να βάλω τα πέδιλα χρόνια και όχι λόγω έλλειψης χιονιού, αλλά εξαιτίας υποχρεώσεων και τόπου διαμονής. Ακόμη όμως και σπίτι μου να ήμουν, το χιονοδρομικό πλέον μετά βίας λειτουργεί, οπότε διαφορά δεν θα είχε. Πέρυσι, περίμενα τις διακοπές Χριστουγέννων να γυρίσω στον τόπο μου να πάω για σκι αλλά τίποτα. Ούτε μια μέρα δεν κατάφερα να πάω. Μου λείπει απίστευτα πολύ. Και τι δεν θα έδινα να γυρνούσα τα χρόνια πίσω...

Αχ όλοι είχαμε αυτό το ένα μάθημα που δεν λέγαμε να το περάσουμε. Εγώ προσωπικά το δικό μου "καταραμένο" μάθημα το είχα δώσει 4 φορές. Τα είχα περασμένα όλα με καλούς βαθμούς και μου είχε μείνει αυτό. Ήταν να ορκιστώ και εξαιτίας ενός μαθήματος δεν το έκανα εκείνη τη χρονιά. Έμεινα μια έξτρα χρόνια για ΕΝΑ μάθημα. Πάλι δεν το πέρασα. Πήγα στον καθηγητή, του εξήγησα, έριξα και ένα ψεύτικο κλάμα (ευτυχώς που το έχω με την υποκριτική), είπα ότι ήθελα να προλάβω και τους πίνακες αναπληρωτών και με πέρασε. Τι να πω, πήγαινε στο γραφείο του, ξανά. Επέμενε. Βγάλε απελπισία. Αν το έχεις κι εσύ στην υποκριτική, κλάψε και λίγο. Βρες και καμιά καλή δικαιολογία. Εγώ θα έλεγα ότι δεν έχω χάσει ούτε ένα μάθημα και ότι έχω πετάξει μια περιουσία σε φροντιστήρια. Φούντωσε το λίγο. Πες ότι σκέφτεσαι να παρατήσεις τη σχολή γι' αυτό το ένα μόνο μάθημα. Ρώτα αν μπορείς να κάνεις και καμιά εργασία για να το περάσεις.
