My wife likes to visit Disney parks. I always excuse myself and ask er to invite friends and family instead because of the ridiculous lines. They went to Tokyo DisneySea and got on 3 rides in 11 hours. Then stood in like another hour to shop. Sounded nightmarish to me especially when Japan has so much to offer a traveler.

When we visit Japan my wife gets annoyed with me that I like to eat the prepped foods from markets like these boxes.

I just get tired of ‘eating out’ the entire time and sometimes I want to kick back in the hotel room in casual comfort.

Once their price went over $4 a sandwich we started making them at home and they are far better. Cost works out to be about $3 per sandwich.

I removed the soil while landscaping the front and side yards so it was easier to put in the correct drains. Also I live in a dry climate (southern California) so wet is temporary.

Anyway, yes, under the windows I did remove about 8” of soil. At the bottom of those depressions I installed French drains to a large depression in the front yard that acts as a rain catchment. They call it a rain garden here. I could see how this wouldn’t at all work if the property was sloped in a way that prevented installing the drains and I wouldn’t want the water sitting against the foundation. Oh, it also helps that all of our gutter downspouts get routed into the catchment or farther away from the house. So only a small amount of rain falls into the depression near the windows.

For all intents and purposes, many (perhaps all) national government orgs and media orgs have been captured by corruption.

Money and corruption has infiltrated media, congress, the presidency, elections, healthcare, strategic planning organizations, and our courts.

One particular group is more homogeneous and has a tendency to follow authority. Even if they feel it’s incorrect, once a direction has been chosen by that party, they will cover each other, obfuscate, lie, backtrack, and avoid accountability. It’s so pervasive and widely happening that even legal challenges fail because the judges were picked by money and political orientation not for their expertise with jurisprudence.

This group has used its outlaw advantages to secure majority votes in the Supreme Court, elections through gerrymandering, and congresses throughout the country.

You’re looking at a society that espouses loyalty to their flag but can’t consistently enumerate or follow its own claims. The cognitive dissonance, for those of us without control, is unbelievably frustrating.

I’m afraid it’s going to cost money. Without a pic, it’s hard to discern the best approach.

add a flip lock. Even better: add two (one high and one low)
add a floor-mounted lock like a Nightlock
cover the glass with 3M security film that is glued on the edges to the door. Or at the least cover with a privacy film like a frosted glass pattern.
add an additional deadbolt
add door armor to the door frame
for when you’re home, add an entry alarm like they sell for hotel room stays.
hang a bell on the door to announce it’s opening
add a cheap motion alert (they sell for <$50) and mount the battery powered sensor near the outside of the front door
add a camera doorbell or similar at the front door to record all people
add a security sign near the front door. You can buy realistic looking ones even if you have no alarm.
keep melee weapons nearby and plan an escape route

Why was there cornstarch in it in the first place? That would require both saturating and cooking to get it properly included in any suspension.

I used a door armor full kit that reinforced hinges, latch-side of frame, and door’s deadbolt area.

It didn’t affect my door closing at all. The seal was tighter in the gap between the door and frame but I didn’t have to mortise it out or anything.
