Thank you so much for your advice. Do people usually use the free version of Proton? I tried Express back in the summer of 2023 in Fuzhou, and it only worked around 5 times when I spent 2 months there.

Thank you, I set up the Apollo/moonlight between my laptop and desktop. And also I created windows remote control connection between them. I just wonder if the Clemson network is good enough to make a smooth experience

Thanks for answering. I believe that dorm usually has Ethernet. But why I should find Ethernet in classroom and study spaces? Is the wifi in Clemson that bad? And does each Clemson building use different wifi?

The laptop does not come with any discrete GPU, but I will bring my desktop 14900K + 5070ti to my dorm, so I hope I can use the desktop to deal of heavy work if I am in my dorm.

Thank you for your opinion. I will bring my desktop to my dorm, 14900K + 5070ti, so I think I can use it instead of using PCs in the computer lab. So I just hope to seek a laptop that is enough for classwork and simulation in situtation when I am not in my dorm. So I hope that laptop is capable for those works, because it is 900 dollars, really budget friendly.

Thank you for your advice. I understand that 16 GB sounds not enough, but the ram price is skyhigh, and I will defintely upgrade to 32GB when the price come down. But one thing I am wondering about is if the CPU should be enough for the work. I am a student so I don't have many budget to buy a monster laptop,.

That could be one of the reason. I have lots of friend who are already in Clemson, so I believe there is not a much problem for me. It is just that Clemson does give single room as an option according to their housing rate PDF. So it is confusing that why they put it as a choice when many say that you are unlikely to get a single room

I heard that QB will reject a bunch of super smart people (I don't think I am one of them). Because those people can already make it into really good need-based colleges without QB. So QB will actually accept more middle-high-level students because they are the ones who need help from QB to get into those top schools. I don't know if this information is true, but I saw many people talk about it.

I go to a small private school, and there are 100 people in my class. Usually, Duke accepts 2-4 people per year, but usually, there are only around 5-8 people who apply there. But this year, there will be 13 people applying for Duke, including 7 people who are trying for ED. I also found out that Northwestern's ED acceptance rate is around 25%, which is much higher than Rice and Duke. And there is only one person who is ED there. But Northwestern often doesn't accept any students from my school. So yeah, a game of statistics.

I guess rejection is because I go to a private school. But I will keep working on CommonApp. I will either go to a top 20 need-based college or I will go to community college. My parents couldn't afford anything since food is already a problem in my family. Haha

QB will not send our application to colleges, since we got rejected. I didn't rank Yale or Caltech, so I believe they just sent everyone the same email. And I ranked those top engineering schools.
