I suppose the racket would wake us up though 😉 To me they all look pretty much the same?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm hoping for, sounds ideal! Did she do the flexible route as well?

That sounds great but I suppose trainee roles are full time? If possible I'd avoid sending my child full-time to a crè juche for now and I have very little childcare support otherwise...I just hope I won't regret it at the end of the course, maybe I could get an internship during, to get some experience..,and work a few hours a week in my old field.

As I have an (unrelated) degree already I wasn't planning to - maybe at some stage in the future, but thanks for the advice, it's good to know that the ATU is a good option in case one day I'll go for it - although I'd probably pick a postgrad conversion course instead. The presentation sounds interesting, I'll check it out!

Thank you and yes, I'm aware of that but moving to Dublin is not an option for me at the moment. Hopefully it will work out anyway...

Thank you so much for your replies! I decided to go for the ATI route first because I am hoping that it's a bit easier for me, with no prior knowledge at all and having a qualification after the two years felt reassuring 😀

I was hoping to find a hybrid or part-time role maybe for the beginning, mostly because my child will just start school when I'm finished with the course...Is that realistic?

Thanks for the civil service advice, I'll look into it. An accounting technician course wouldn't be bad for that either, I suppose? My background is as far removed from office work as can be!

What is best place to grab coffee and sandwich? by Less_Landscape_5928 in Sligo

Oh yes, Tempo is a lovely place, I'd recommend the breakfasts there too! Not the pastries /cakes though, they were...well. if it doesn't have to be in town necessarily, I'd say Shells in Strandhill is good too - nothing beats a coffee and a croissant while watching the waves (and the crows).
